Come join us on a private walking or hiking day trip in the Bavarian Alps! Munich Wanderland's day trips start from Munich, offer great views of the Bavarian Alps and take you to cosy places with authentic Bavarian food. Explore the region south of Munich off the beaten track and learn about the local culture and lifestyle from one of our three personable guides: Bavaria in a nutshell! This private day tour from Munich truly gives you the best of Tegernsee. A mountain river leads us up the slopes from the village of Tegernsee. After a 2 hour ascent, we reach a rocky little summit with a cute chapel where amazing vistas over the mountains of the Mangfallgebirge and the lake await. A short descent brings us to a mountain chalet where we enjoy a well-earned Bavarian lunch. Replenished, we hike back via a panoramic path above the lake that eventually leads us to the shores of lake Tegernsee. Hiking Distance: 11 km Gain: 470 m A certain surefootedness and good shoes are required!

Itinerary

  • Tegernsee

    Our train (just over one hour each way) takes us to the village of Tegernsee and we'll see all the highlights of the village – including Castle Tegernsee.

  • Lake Tegernsee

    We will check out the lake shore and there is also a chance to take a dip in the lake.

  • Bavarian Alps

    Our hike takes us straight into the Bavarian Alps. Enjoy the winding paths and lovely pastures as well as excellent views from the summit. After about two hours of hiking, we'll enjoy our well-deserved break at a mountain chalet before continuing our hike. Hiking distance: 11 km Hiking time: 4 h Elevation gain: 470 m

Wonderful day-hike with Stefanie

We had a great time on our day-hike with Stefanie when we were staying in Fussen. The path she chose for us offered beautiful views and we enjoyed a delicious lunch at a Vegetarian Mountain Hut at the end of the trip. We would definitely recommend Stefanie and Munich Wanderland for custom hiking experiences in the Munich area.

Great experience on the Tegernsee hike

We had a wonderful time with Stefanie. She was a great guide and took us on a wonderful hike in Tegernsee. Our group was not the easiest to manage, but Stefanie was incredibly helpful and accommodating. When she noticed one of our group struggling a bit, Stefanie was able to change our route on the fly and get us back home safely and without any drama. We were in safe hands and I would absolutely recommend Stefanie and Munich Wanderland to anyone interested in a hike in the alps while in Munich.
