Covered with snow, very striking landscapes. Tour guide was very informative, pacing also good- certain downhill paths were slippery and not easy but everything manageable for a beginner, with plenty of small breaks. Very decent gear was provided by the tour before the trek. Would recommend!

This trip was exactly what we were looking for. The ride with funivia cable car + 4x4x buses takes 45min up to 3000m. Then the guide took us a little bit uphill to the highest point allowed for normal tourists and continued downhill for 3h to the upper funivia station. The hike is no problem for people in moderate walking condition. The guide’s accent made it a bit difficult to understand the info, but we managed. The guides were also extremely helpful with sorting out some problems we had with return cable car ticket. The rented shoes and jackets seemed quite worn out but were actually perfect and comfortable to wear, none of us had any problems with it. Bring sunglasses, a hat/headband and a neck scarf to cover eyes, nose and mouth against the dusty wind.

Well organized tourist attraction. Although off season - still full with people. Groups of 20-25 people/guide. Well prepared, enthusiastic and friendly guide ( Antonio). Although these elevations could be reached on foot, without a guide or using the busses, but there are no signs, the landscape changes year by year, the fog can settle within a minute, so I would not recommend trying to walk around without a guide. High trekking boots are necessary due to the very soft terrain, pyroclastic rocks will get into your shoes very easily without them, so make sure you are well prepared.

We were hesitant to go on this hiking because of the price, it came to about €100 per person. However, it was worth it. Our guide, Marco, explained things really well. He also found the right walking tempo for our group which consisted of both children, fit adults, and less experienced hikers. We left the rifugio at 10:30, took the cable car for 15min, then a 4x4 truck for 10min and then set off by foot, arriving back at the cable car at 15:00 and down at the rifugio around 15:30. Of this, about 3hrs was spent walking, with multiple small breaks. Great views, i recommend it.
