Raphael is a wonderful archaeologist guide for Pompeii and Herculaneum.

Published on Jan, 2025

Raphael, our archaeologist guide was wonderful. So much history crammed into 6 hours. He kept it light, thorough and amusing. Thank you.

When they say no...

Published on Jan, 2025

When they say no pickup/drop off, they are not kidding. You have to find your way back home from Herculaneum on the train. My fault for not understanding that. Otherwise, a wonderful tour with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. I absolutely recommend it.

Recommended!

Fascinating in-depth exploration of Herculaneum and incredible highlights of Pompeii. To see all of Pompeii more time is necessary, but this tour gives a nice overview for those with limited time. Pompeii encompasses a large area, so if you have great interest in Pompeii, you may want to return to it on your own to explore more. Pick-up was on-time and the tour delivered exactly as promised. The tour was fast paced, which was perfect for me, but note that some slower moving individuals struggled to keep up with the group. I absolutely enjoyed this tour!

Great Day in the Ruins

Published on Jan, 2025

Loved it. Highly recommended. Weather was almost perfect in mid-January. A bit overcast, but way better than sweat-soaked in high season. Transportation was safe and comfortable. Departures were on time. We had ample time for lunch at Pompeii after Herculaneum. Raphael was a great guide. English was perfect. He had great stories about things archaeologists have learned and are still studying about both sites. I doubt we would have navigated as well with self audio guides and maps. Mobility required! I cannot imagine doing this with a walker - even cane or crutches.
