Overview

A short drive by the air-conditioned Mercedes will take you to the peninsula Pelješac, the most famous Oysters and Wine region in Croatia. Dubrovnik Tour Guide travel agency is committed to ensuring your trip is exceptional! The first stop on the tour is the medieval town Ston, and its salt works to learn about sea salt production and the second largest wall in the world built to protect salt production in the 14th century. We will pay a visit to the famous winery where you will be guided by the family members who will show you their wine cellars and where you will have a wine tasting accompanied by a plate of cheeses and locally produced olive oil. We will embark on the boat that will take you straight to the Oysters Farm where you will pick and taste Ostrea Edulis - the tastiest oysters in the world! The host will prepare mussels as well accompanied by wine, liqueurs, and local sweets! The tour is limited to 8 guests for better interaction with a guide and a better experience!

Itinerary

  • Ston City Walls

    After a short ride along Dubrovnik Riviera in an air-conditioned Mercedes, we will reach the Medieval Town Ston where you will find a 5.5 Km long wall built to protect salt production in the 14th century. This is the second-largest wall in the world after the Great Wall of China :) *You will be in a small group of up to 8 guests for better interaction with a guide and a better experience*

    We will visit the famous Pelješac winery where you will be guided by the family members who will show you their wine cellars and tell you all about vineyards and wine production. There you will have a wine tasting accompanied by a plate of cheeses and locally produced olive oil!

    Oysters Farm Experience will start in Mali Ston where you will be welcomed by the local family members who will tell you interesting stories about Mali Ston Bay, a place where you will find a Queen of Oysters. Mali Ston Oysters are considered to be the tastiest oysters in the world :) Prepare to experience something completely different when you enter the boat that goes straight to the oyster's farm. You will learn everything about Oysters and mussels growing and production. You will also have Oysters and Mussels tasting accompanied by wine, domestic spirits, and traditional local sweets.

It'll Help You Embrace The Spirit of "Pomalo!"

What an incredible experience! Save your time reading and just book it now: well worth the time, well worth the money. Damir has crafted a tour here that is so unique, and so representative of the area -- you'll get to learn and experience (and taste!) a lot, and you'll get to do it all in half a day! My partner and I were the only participants on our particular day, so it turned into, essentially, a private tour. Damir is so easy to talk to and get along with, and the time spent in transit between locations just flew by. We visited Ston to view the fortifications around the town, as well as the saltworks (where we were briefed on the history of salt and salt production in the area by one of the employees). We then headed towards the Peljesac peninsula for our next stop, Milos Winery. As we were the only people there, this also turned into a private tour. We were shown the various cellars, got briefed on their production history, were able to ask questions, and then it was off to the main event: the wine tasting! We tried four different wines -- all of them organic, all of them outstanding -- as well as a selection of cheeses, bread, fresh-cut tomatoes, and olive oil. We then finished over in Mali Ston, visiting the Gusta Me oyster farm, where we had a baker's dozen of some of the most delicious oysters we've ever had. Definitely worthy of the "Queen of the Oysters" mantle! This was accompanied by a bottle of very fine white wine and a very generous portion (probably between 3lb and 4lb!) of freshly cooked mussels from the bay. The scenery was definitely the cherry on top of this sublime lunch experience. Honestly, even knowing what this tour offers, we'd probably do it again just to experience it in a different season. Hvala, Damir, for helping us create such wonderful memories on this day!

Fun oyster tour

This tour was a lot of fun! Ivona took us to Milo’s winery and Gusta me oyster farm. The oyster farm was the highlight for me, learning about growing and harvesting oysters, and then eating oysters and mussels. Milos winery is organic with whites, roses, and reds. The tasting room is large and wine served with cheese. The visit to ston was the only real let down. I thought we would be seeing the salt works but we really stood outside the ropes and talked briefly about it. The owner touched all the salt with his hand and then offered a taste. It was nothing special. No one bought any. Overall though- I’d go again!

Such a fabulous experience from the time we were picked up (had to change the location at the last minute b/c our ship docked elsewhere) to when we were dropped off. just us and one other couple. Ivona was beyond perfect. Funny, honest, informative. A bit of a drive to Ston but beautiful. Great winery tasting and even better mussel and oyster tasting. You are really missing out if you don't book this tour. Unexpected benefit was the couple who were with us; we wound up having a snack and more wine back in Dubrovnik together.

This was an amazing way to spend our last day in Croatia. The drive was beautiful. All aspects were perfect. Ivona was a wonderful guide. Highly recommend this especially if you like wine oysters and mussels

really recommend if you like oysters - were superb! and mussels as well. Learned how they grow and harvest them - enjoyed the Ston wall - would have like some time more to explore there and perhaps walk some of it for a view. Winery also was great with tasting wine, olive oil and cheese - our guide Ivona was fun and informative - definitely recommend!
