If you are looking for the Dubrovnik Wine Tour, join us on an unforgettable journey through the stunning Pelješac peninsula. Pelješac peninsula is the most famous wine region of Croatia, and it begins at Ston, which is only 50 minutes drive from Dubrovnik and then stretches all the way down towards Korčula island.  Our journey starts in Dubrovnik and takes us on a scenic drive towards Pelješac, making stops along the way to experience the local culture, and capture some breathtaking photos. Our wine tasting tour is an opportunity to visit some of the best Croatian wineries, combine them with famous fresh oysters from the bay of Mali Ston and try local specialties from some of the best seafood restaurants in southern Croatia, all in just one day trip from Dubrovnik.

Itinerary

  • Majkovi

    Our first stop is the view point near the small village of Majkovi, located on the hills overlooking the famous Elaphiti Islands. This stop offers the most stunning view of the entire region, where you can see the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea and a view from Dubrovnik to the Mljet national park. Here, you’ll get a chance to take some amazing photos and create memories that will last a lifetime.

  • Ston City Walls

    Medieval town (14 century) that was once the edge off Dubrovnik republic with 7 kilometars long stone walls connecting all the way to the fort at the top of the mountain. Famous Ston cake or fresh oysters are some of the options. Also you can visit the oldest salt factory in Europe that is still operating. Dubrovnik to Ston is one hour travel time and will go to next destination to Matusko winery for about 40 minutes.

    Our next stop is at the small and traditional family-owned Ćurlin winery, located in the village of Ponikve. Here you’ll get a chance to meet the family and learn about their traditional winemaking methods, which have been passed down through generations. The Ćurlin family has been producing wine for generations, and they are known for their high-quality Plavac Mali, a red grape variety that is unique to the region. You’ll have the opportunity to taste their award-winning wines and learn about the history and culture of the region.

Divine Wine Experience

Well, what can you say when you are in great company and have awesome wine to taste! My wife and I were staying in Cava apartments and Marko, our host, was also our guide for a few day trips. We were entertained with interesting stories and a few historical facts along the way. The views are smazing all along the tour. When we came near to the wine farm we were visiting, Marko gave us an insight into what was to come, pointing out the different areas the vines were planted along the way and how certain terrain affected the wines. When we arrived at the winery, we were met by a very friendly winemaker, Tony. The vineyards have been in his family's care for centuries and you can tell by the love and care with which he talks about his wines. The reds are comparable to some of the best wines I've tasted and the whites were pretty darn good too (my wife doesn't normally drink much white wine, but still bought 2 bottles). Tony's wife makes an amazing range of liqueurs too. Tony's olive oil is another outstanding product you can taste at this "small" family run farm. Over all, a truly remarkable experience!

The intimate atmosphere made it feel like we were engaging with old friends rather than just another tour group. Overall, this experience offered a perfect blend of relaxation, indulgence, and a deeper appreciation for Croatian wines, making it a must-do for anyone visiting Dubrovnik.
