Overview

This tour is a relaxing ride through the greener and cultural north side of Osaka city. Expect an authentic slice of city life, pedalling alongside Osakan locals, other travellers and your friendly, knowledgeable, bilingual guide. Tick off the famous sites and discover some lesser known gems as we explain why we love Osaka and answer any questions you may have. Finally, get recommendations for the rest of your stay in town, we all have our favourite spots for coffee/beer/yakitori/sushi/and everything in between! This tour is 90% flat and can be completed by anyone who can ride a bike so join us for a bit of exercise, some fresh air, and to take the weight off your feet!

Nakanoshima Park

Cycle through the pleasant landscaped gardens and old European-style buildings of central Osaka's old business district.

Kemasakuranomiya Park (Pass By)

Follow the river that cuts through the city, enjoy the peace, serenity and views across a lesser known part of Osaka.
Mint Museum

Though we will not have time to actually enter the museum, we will stop in the grounds and learn about the fascinating history of the area and its place within Japan's modernisation.

Ride through the greenery of Osaka Castle park, stop for picture postcard views, a cool drink and a short explanation of the pivotal castle's role in Japan's history and culture.

Utsubo Park

Visit Osaka's most beautiful city centre park and enjoy the beauty and surprising history of this photogenic and relaxing green space.

Revealing the City's Charms from a New Angle

My e-Bike tour of Osaka offered a fresh and captivating perspective of the city. Exploring with the knowledgeable and amiable guide added depth to the experience as she shared intriguing stories along our route. The perfect weather enhanced our journey. However, the disappointment arose when we discovered that the bikes provided were regular ones instead of the expected e-Bikes. This unexpected change left us fatigued for the remainder of the day. Despite this hiccup, the tour itself was enjoyable, offering a unique glimpse into Osaka's charm from a different angle.

Highlight of our trip!

One of the highlights of our trip! Matt was an incredible guide, super charismatic, with wonderful facts and history of Osaka. You can really tell he's passionate about what he does. The bike route we did was not strenuous at all, and really was a great change of pace after a week of walking 20k+ steps a day in Japan (and you get to cover more ground this way!) I would say a beginner biker can do this, since there we went through mostly bike paths and roads, however I would advise for you to be a confident biker as you may need to navigate around the occasional crowds. Thanks Matt for a fantastic 3 hours, we highly recommend this to anyone!

We booked through a 3rd party website, which made it difficult to communicate well with the tour operators, but Cycle Osaka tried hard to reach me through any communication possible to let us know that our original tour had to be canceled. They were very helpful and accommodating to try to find a time and date that would be best for us to reschedule. Although we didn't get the same tour we initially booked, it ended up being the tour we needed! We went on a shorter 3-hour bike tour with Matt and we were the only party during this time. This 3-hour bike tour was a good amount of time for our first bike ride in Japan. Cycle Osaka opened up a different tour time for my family because we weren't able to attend their earlier time. For this, we are so grateful! Matt was a great tour guide! With only us 2 bikers and Matt biking around, we were able to learn so many interesting historical facts about Osaka. The sights we saw were great, but the biking around the interesting city was the best part. Biking was intimidating but Matt made it easy to follow at a good speed and had many stops to point out for us. I wish I could've taken more pictures or recorded the bike ride, but I was focused on not dying by biking into people or things. We appreciate the effort Cycle Osaka took to work with our schedule! It was a great biking tour and would definitely come by again!

Akira did a wonderful job giving us a snapshot of Osaka from the perspective of a local! He was super knowledgeable about the history and culture and brought a whole lot of enthusiasm to the tour. He also went out of his way to make sure we all felt as comfortable and safe as possible biking through the streets of Osaka.
