    The boat trip around the island of Ortigia will allow you to admire the following monuments or historic buildings from the sea: Palazzo Veneziano, Ponte Umberto I, Porto Piccolo, Former Bourbon Prison, Spanish Walls and Lungomare di Levante, Fortezza Viliena, Jewish Quarter, Castello Maniace, Fonte Aretusa, Duomo and Church of Santa Lucia alla Badia, Lungomare Alfeo and Porta Marina.

    We will continue with the exploration of the sea caves on the coast of Syracuse: the boat will penetrate inside the caves to allow one to admire closely stalactites, stalagmites and coral formations.

Great short boat trip around Ortigia Island.

By land or by sea?

Great way to get a lay of the land by seeing it from the sea and then going into the town and seeing the sights . We did the boat trip the day we arrived.

Ortiga boat trip - short and sweet

This 1 hour 10 minute boat trip was great. It was a small boat, which it needed to be to go under the old bridge and into the sea caves. We jumped off the boat for a dip in the sea on the way back, after sailing around the castle. The tour was provided by Dolce Excursions and we booked it through Sicilife. We has a bit of trouble finding the meeting point, but I recommend both providers.
