Overview

I will accompany you to discover the places of my childhood. My father is a tour guide so I grew up playing in the places I try to make tourists appreciate today. I will let you discover the history, art, habits and typical Sicilian dishes with the eyes of a local, the perfect mix to appreciate one of the most important Mediterranean cities in the Greek period and beyond. In addition we can add the market tour to taste some of the most delicious sicilian local food.

I will meet you in front of the Bar Dionisio situated at the beginning of the Souvenir area at the Neapolis Archeological Park of Syracuse.

    We will discover together the wonders of the Archeological Park of Syracuse, visiting the biggest Greek Teatre in Sicily, the stone quarries with the famous Dionisyu's Grotto, the sacrificial altar of Hieron II and a beautiful Roman Amphitheatre.

    We will visit the oldest Temple of Sicily, the amazing Cathedral unique for the differents styles mixed together, and the simbol of Ortigia, the Aretusa's fresh water spring!

Great blend of history and culture

Great afternoon and early evening tour. Leitzia has a fun and energetic personality. She blends her knowledge of history with interesting cultural anecdotes. Her interest in food and cooking also finds a way into the conversation. Very good tour.

So glad we did this tour! Despite having an interest in history I had limited awareness of the significance of Syracuse to Greek, Roman and Carthaginian history. This tour was absolutely fascinating and Letizia brought the ancient history of the area to life. She is very knowledgable and very engaging. Four hours passed in a flash! I would definitely recommend this tour!
