Itinerary

Hop on an open-air safari truck and immerse yourself in the Dominican countryside. We begin our day with a visit to Monkey Land. In the tropical jungle, listen to the sounds of nature while keeping an eye out for the cute little squirrel monkeys that abound in this natural environment. Trained staff give you a plate of fruit that you can offer to the monkeys. These cheeky, friendly creatures love shiny objects — hang on to your belongings or they will relieve you of loose items for later play. This is an awesome opportunity to get up close with these lovable, fun little monkeys. Head to a typical countryside home, where time has stood still. See and experience how the locals live without running water or electricity. You’ll also learn about the history and culture of this beautiful Caribbean island and discover some traditional customs.

Flavors, Monkeys and More!

What a great tour! Along with a delicious and informative flavors tour, we had such a blast interacting with the monkeys! Miguel and Jose were both engaging and knowledgeable guides. We then stopped at a neat little handcrafted artisans store about 5 minutes away (by bus) which was very enjoyable. We knew we were in good hands with our Runners tour guide Pedro and driver Alejandro who deftly navigated traffic to and from Amber Cove. Thanks for a fun and memorable adventure!

The tour guides were great! Very knowledgeable and informative. Monkeyland was so much fun. The monkeys were so sweet and cute.

I was really afraid in the beginning but they made me so comfortable and made the experience enjoyable.
