We will visit the Amber Museum, an excellent example of Victorian architecture that houses a unique collection of valuable samples of Dominican amber. Experts say that this amber, known for being the most transparent in the world, qualifies as semi-precious. Formed from tree sap that has hardened over millions of years, capturing many plant and insect fossils. Puerto Plata Province

This is a great choice for first-time visitors to Puerto Plata. Swap noisy and crowded sightseeing buses for a private tour experience. They will have a tour inside the factory they will show you how they roll the cigar and all the different types of tobacco if they smoke they will have a free good quality cigar included for part of our tours and if they want to buy cigars they also sell it in the factory

Rigo and Leonel tours have the best service in the whole Dominican Republic. They are very friendly very knowledgeable and professional and are well respected in puerto plata and the whole island

Fantastic tour

Rigo is your man if your want to see and hear about his great country. We did the city tour with our kids and had a great time. The weather was rainy, windy, and chilly so we didn't get a great beach day but he took us to a beach side restaurant. Not only was he our driver & tour guide he was also our photographer. We really enjoyed umbrella Street and pink street. Will definitely book another tour when we make it back.

Great city tour!

I found Rigo through a Carnival Facebook page and although I was initially nervous to book outside the cruise excursions I am happy we did! Rigo was waiting for us right at the Taxi center. We had wifi access in his van as well as water and the van was clean and comfortable. He took us to all of the places we asked to see and even showed us some extra places in the city that were not the main tourist areas. We had time to shop and explore and he had us back to the port with plenty of time to enjoy the pool still (my kids really wanted time to swim!). Rigo was very friendly and great at taking photos so we had the perfect memories to look back on. If we are ever in Puerto Plata again we will definitely be reaching back out!

Greatest Tour!

We had the greatest time ever in Puerto Planta and it was because of Rigo Taxi and our driver, Jose! Our family did not want to book a tour through the cruise line, so we contacted this company and we were not disappointed. Our private van was clean, comfortable and we had access to Wi-Fi and water. Our driver was waiting for us right outside where the ship was docked and immediately we knew we were in good hands! From the beginning at the rum, to shopping, to cigar factory, to the colorful streets, to lunch, and ending with horseback riding along the beach… we never had a worry. I didn’t think we could do everything and get back to the ship on time, but our driver got us back with more than enough time to spare. Everything was handled professionally and communication was excellent. You would think a private tour like this would be quite expensive, but we found it very affordable and would gladly do it again. I highly give Rigo my recommendation. It’s the best!
