Overview

The place by tradition for mountaineers and hikers national and foreign. La Malinche is an inactive volcano of 4.461 meters, is the fifth highest mountain in Mexico is an excellent place for mountaineers who start in this sport. Have you ever climbed a mountain?, or would like a challenge of another level, come and join us to conquer the summit of the fifth highest mountain in Mexico with more than 4000 meters. THINGS YOU WILL NEED: Warm clothes, Medium / high mountain boots (not tennis), Small backpack to carry water, snacks and an additional jacket/sweater. Have a good breakfast before starting the trek. Bring at least 1 liter of water with you for trekking. Bring snacks and lunch to eat on the mountain. Don't forget 2 Jackets/sweater and a raincoat because is rainy season. Sunglasses. Sunscreen. Cap. Long sleeve t-shirt. Trekking pants / leggings (not jeans). Please carry a raincoat and gloves in case to be needed

  • Volcan La Malinche

    We will visit the Malinche National Park, an impressive mountain forest full of pines, oaks and oymeles, ideal for enjoying nature in its fullest glory. Surrounded by the majestic La Malinche volcano, this park offers spectacular scenery and fresh air that will connect you to the tranquility of the surroundings. We will make an exciting hike from the base to the top, located more than 4,400 meters above sea level. During the tour, we will cross paths surrounded by greenery and panoramic views that will leave you breathless. An unmissable adventure for those looking to challenge themselves and enjoy a unique natural environment!

A memorable day

We had an amazing day walking up the Malinche. Aaron and Oscar were adorable, we had a really nice day with them. Aaron is a great guide, and shared his knowledge and passion which made the day memorable for us!

Had a great day at La Malinche with my guide Ariel. Ariel was a true pro- super knowledgeable and very safety conscious. He was very patient with me as my climbing speed declined dramatically closer to the summit. Hope to see you again soon for Izta or Pico de Orizaba!

Hiking our first mountain >4000m

Our guide picked us up punctually early in the morning and we had a safe travel to the mountain area. From there on we hiked first through the forest and later up a gravel slope until we reached the summit. All along the way he provided us with interesting information about the mountain, the plants and about the area in general. He spoke very good and clear English and communication was really easy with him. The tour company provided us with hiking poles which were of great help in the ascend and descend. Thank you very much for this unique experience.

Hike La Malinche

Climbing La Malinche was a fun experience. My guide Ariel was a very nice and interesting person. The pick up was 7 am sharp and the ride there was very comfortable. Ariel had snacks and drinks for me. There was a hot cup of coffee or tea at the top. I would 100 % recommend it.
