Overview

With more of 5000 meters above sea level is the third highest mountain in Mexico, you can see the profile of a woman lying with head, breasts and feet as main formations, some call her the Sleeping Woman. The landscapes are incredible and changing as you ascend, which makes it a mountain with beautiful and varied scenarios. Hiking in the third highest mountain in Mexico at more than 3800 m. An adventure you will never forget. THINGS YOU WILL NEED: Warm clothes, Medium / high mountain boots (not tennis), Small backpack to carry water, snacks and an additional jacket/sweater. Have a good breakfast before starting the trek. Bring at least 1 liter of water with you for trekking. Bring snacks and lunch to eat on the mountain. Don't forget 2 Jackets/sweater and a raincoat because is rainy season. Sunglasses. Sunscreen. Cap. Long sleeve t-shirt. Trekking pants / leggings (not jeans). Please carry a raincoat and gloves in case to be needed

  • Iztaccihuatl and Popocatepetl National Park

    In the Iztaccíhuatl-Popocatépetl National Park, you will have an unforgettable experience surrounded by spectacular landscapes and the majesty of the volcanoes. Depending on the day and the reservation, we will embark on a hike that will take us up to 4,500 meters above sea level, where you can enjoy an amazing view of Popocatépetl and the surrounding mountains. During the journey, you will walk through natural trails filled with flora and fauna typical of the region, while breathing in the fresh air of the highlands. This park is the perfect setting to connect with nature, challenge your limits, and marvel at one of the most iconic views of Mexico. An adventure that will stay with you forever!

  • This tour is subject to the availability of National Park reserves, in case of not having availability, it can be accessed but the walk begins in La Joya and the goal would be the Paso de Cortes. A walk of 7KM out and 7KM back.

Iztaccihual hike with 3 summits adventure

I climbed iztaccihual with 3 summits adventure. I highly recommend this company if you plan to do any of the surrounding peaks. Yvonne kept a good steady pace, was attentive to how we were doing/ feeling throughout the climb and kept us safe. Although it was a tough hike, we successfully reached the summit!

Hiking above 4000m with a true local

Great experience with a true local! We are quite experienced hikers but didnt know how we would have handled the altitude. With a smooth pace we managed to hike from 3900 to 4500m with a beautiful view, despite the cloudy weather. Aaron shared a lot of interesting information with us, I would definitely recommend!

Really good experience hiking with Ariel. A difficult home for some no doubt due to the altitude - we found it tough at times, but worth the effort. Spectacular views. Hosts provided drinks etc that weren’t expected. Very pleased with this experience overall

The trip was well organised from the beginning to the end. Our guide was really friendly and good at explaining the things while driving to the starting point from our hike. Further, he made sure that the hike itself went smoothly even though it was challenging at times since we had never been hiking at that hight before. Also, the driver did a really good job even though the road was bumpy.

The guide was very knowledgeable, adapted the pace to the fact that we are not acclimatized to the altitude. Extra care for safety was taken.
