Overview

Enjoy making Oyaki(Japanese Stuffed Dumplings) and you can have it in front of a traditional Japanese sunken hearth. A Nagano specialty, oyaki are roasted dumplings made of wheat and filled with seasonal vegetables or sweet bean paste. You will learn to make oyaki and roast them in a sunken hearth. After enjoying the warm dumplings by the fireplace, your guide will take you to Naganoā€™s laid back area to visit some local shops around Zenkoji temple 惻Making 2 Oyaki and have them with Soba Tea in a traditional Japanese house with sunken hearth. 惻Explore Nagano's back street area, as we walk to Zenkoji temple. 惻Learn and practice authentic Japanese eating style and discover other parts of Nagano outside of your guidebook. 惻Connect with local business owners to learn the history and local culture. 惻Photography Tour : We will be on hand to take some happy snaps which will be shared with you after the tour! *Please let us know if you have any food restrictions beforehand*

    Meet with your guide just in front of Starbucks Midori Nagano station and walk to the place where you will lean to make Oyaki.

  • Ogawanoshodaimonten

    Great culinary experience of Oyaki making. Oyaki is cooked in irori, which is a traditional Japanese sunken hearth and you will enjoy having it near by cozy & warm bonfire.

  • Zenko-ji Temple

    Explore more about Nagano!! After enjoying Oyaki maiking, the guide will take you to Naganoā€™s laid back area to visit some local shops around Zenkoji temple

  • Nagano Station

    We will go back to Nagano station(20 min by walking). The duration of this tour is about 2 hours. The tour concludes at the Nagano station but If you would like to explore different places like restaurants after this tour, you can say good bye to your guide at around Zenkoji temple area, where is easy to get back to Nagano station by yourself

Great experience for the family

Great guide -- knowledgeable and flexible. We had already been to one of the planned walking areas, so he kindly took us to a different one. Tons of fun. We are now all lovers of roasted Oyaki dumplings. Yum!!
