Overview

Embark on an unforgettable 45 minute helicopter tour showcasing the stunning diversity of Kona's coastline and Hualalai Volcano. Take flight over the ancient Kaloko Fish Ponds then glide above sparkling Kailua Bay along picturesque Ali’i Drive. Witness Kona’s magnificent beauty and experience the powdery expanse of Magic Sands Beach to the succulent, green Kona Coffee farms. From there, look into history while soaring over the pristine Kealakekua Bay Marine Preserve, home to the iconic Captain Cook Monument. Climbing above the landscape, witness the geological formations of Ka’upulehu Crater and the majesty of the Hualalai Volcano. Traversing across the molten rock, the landscape opens to Puu Waawaa Forest Reserve, home to native flora and fauna. After exploring the forest, soar over the turquoise waters of Kiholo Bay and glimpse the secluded beauty of Makalawena Beach. This aerial adventure offers a breathtaking perspective on Kona’s world famous coastline and natural volcanic beauty.

  • For doors off tours, jackets and/or sweatshirts, closed toe shoes, and hair ties are required. Long pants are recommended.
  • For each guest weighing 260 pounds or more, a weight and balance fee is required to safely balance the aircraft. For guests weighing between 260-279 lbs, a fee in the amount of 50% of the seat price will be assessed after booking. For guests weighing 280 lbs or higher, an additional seat purchase will be assessed after booking.
  • All passengers 24 months and older must purchase a full fare seat.
  • When booking the doors off experience, your seat may or may not be directly adjacent to an open door.

Had a great flight today with Chris! He had lots of really interesting and cool facts about the area we were flying in, and was a really smooth flight. Would totally recommend it and would go again.

We had an amazing tour with this company. Not only were the views epic (especially doors off), but our pilot Donovan was also a great tour guide and extremely knowledgeable about the island, providing a lot of history and facts on the island. We should have done the longer flight! Mahalo Donovan and Rainbow Helicopter Tours.
