Overview

Tour Hawaii Island's only Salt Farm. Recently featured on Guy Fieri's show, we are located on a beautiful 7 acre oceanfront site, in an area that was has been for salt gathering by Hawaiians for centuries and now is part of the Hawaii Ocean Science & Technology Park. Our Chief Salt Maker brings tradition and modern technology together, she hand harvest the only salt in the world made from Deep Ocean Waters 2,200 feet below the surface. Your guide will give you a brief overview of the history of our area, the special place salt has in Hawaiian Culture, our salt making process and the centuries-long travel through deep sea currents our ultra pristine and mineral rich water took before arriving to us here. To finish we offer a salt tasting of our various salts, flavored and smoked. Flowing Cold Deep Ocean Water Foot Soaks are available as add on. Or come visit our store if our tour does not fit into your schedule. Our tour is partially wheelchair accessible, please contact us

    Our Salt Farm Manager will meet you at our office and give a guided tour of our water source, salt harvesting areas, explain the salt harvesting process, our other deep ocean mineral products and finish with a salt tasting.

My husband and I had a great time and loved our tour! The guide was exceptional! She had a wealth of knowledge, was patient and an excellent speaker. The tour is short and easy and the salt taste at the end was a lovely treat!

I booked this because my hubby enjoys all things farming, but I enjoyed it also. It’s a beautiful location! It’s a truly unique operation and quite interesting. The foot soak was downright cold, but everyone participated! And the bottoms of my feet were so soft afterward. For me, the best part was trying the different salt flavors with fruit and veggies. I brought home three varieties of salt and some of the magnesium drops, some for me and some for friends.

Don’t hesitate to do this visit this farm business even if you just visit the store. Highly recommend taking the tour and the foot soak. We all enjoyed the beautiful venue on a beautiful piece of beach, learned an incredible amount of information about the harvesting and curing of sea salt. Great learning about their efforts to become entirely sustainable. The tasting of different salts paired with a few different fruit/veggies make it hard to resist making a salt purchase! The guide did an excellent job engaging the group of maybe 20 peeps. Five out five stars!
