Discovering a new city, especially one like beautiful Kobe, is exciting but it's even more fun when you get to do it with a friend by your side. That is exactly what it will feel like as you explore Kobe with one of our hosts from the area. Visit Ikuta Shrine, one of Japan's oldest Shinto shrines, or amble up Mt. Rokko. You could also venture beyond Mount Rokko to the outdoor hot springs of Arima Onsen. Kobe is a hive of activity, from fine dining to downtown shopping, animal petting, so get ready for an adventure. adventure awaits. Within 24 hours after booking you'll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you'll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place.     Developed by Chinese merchants who settled in Kobe in 1868, this is a popular and shopping and dining district. Packed with shops, restaurants and food stands, you can try popular street gourmet, such as steamed buns, ramen, tapioca drinks and various other Japanized-Chinese dishes.   • Kitano Ijinkan-gai (Pass By)

    When touring Kobe, visiting Kitano area, the old foreign settlement quarter, is a must. 
Its history dates back to the opening of Kobe Port (1868) to foreign trade. At the time foreigners could only live in designated areas where they could rent houses and in Kobe that area was Kitano. There are around 20 old Western-style buildings open to the public, seeing them all would be a daunting task, but your local host will hand-pick for you the most suggestive ones.   • Ikuta Shrine (Pass By)

Fun trip in Kobe.

Angelica did her very best to show us as much of Kobe as she could. The use of public transport she took us to the most interesting places we could fit into our time schedule. She kindly added an extra hour to our trip. Gave us a little test at the end to make sure we had all listened! Good guide to have.

Excellent custom 1:1 half-day walking tour of Kobe with a great guide who read my input and already had an ideal tour in mind from what I said I was interested in when filling out the questionnaire, but also had options along the way to modify if desired. It was truly unscripted and I got to see everything I was hoping to, along with a couple cool things I would have never found on my own. Great conversation and lots of clear explanations with historical context. Had a great time, highly recommend.
