Itinerary

  • Minatogawa Shrine

    One of the two most popular shrines in Kobe City. It is a shrine, and for this one, it is more muted... without the famous orange/red every where. Very popular for many different important celebrations for locals.

  • Meriken Park

    We will be passing through Harbor land and Meriken Park. This is a beautiful port area for both locals and travelers alike. In Meriken there are many eateries and shops to browse.

  • Kobe Motomachi Shopping Street

    The place where locals love to shop. Closer to Daimaru store, the shops are more so cosmopolitan, and going towards the Kobe Station side, you see a mix of new, and old (many generations owned stores).

  • Chinatown (Nankinmachi)

    China Town nestled on the side of Motomachi. You will feel like you are in a totally different area from when you step into this street. You feel like you are not even in Japan anymore.

  • Ikuta Shrine

    One of two most popular shrines in Kobe City. Vibrant colors, old history, and getting to this shrine is fun because you go through the entertainment part of Kobe.

  • Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens

    8-hour Experience is recommended if you would like Nunobiki Falls included. Nunobiki features the flowers that bloom in the season you visit. As you walk down the garden paths, you have views of the Kobe City Ocean/Sky line along the way. Fun ride up the mountain on a rope-way "gondola"; and on your ride up, you can see the Nunobiki waterfall, and other homes, foliage.... and not forgetting to mention, the skyline view of Kobe City. Once at the top, visit the essential oil museum and smell some samples, walk down the path with many smaller gardens placed in beautiful patterns, and visit a greenhouse with wonderful sight and sound of streaming river. If you want, you can also have lunch at the herb restaurant, (with courses of edible flowers). You can't go wrong here if you want to see all that Kobe City landscape has to offer, (mountains, oceans, and all thats in between).

  • Suma Beach

    Seasonal - during Summer and early Fall months. Although quiet on many of the months of the year, the summer gets fun with the pop up restaurants with music playing, stroll some through the warm waters, and people watch as some are perfecting their selfies.

I had the pleasure of embarking on a tour guided by Michelle, and it was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish she demonstrated unparalleled knowledge, professionalism, and enthusiasm for the subject matters being discussed. Not only was she incredibly knowledgeable about the sites we visited, but she also went way above and beyond to provide valuable experience and made sure you enjoyed your time. Highly recommended!

Outstanding Tour Guide

Our guide Michelle speaks perfect English and is very knowledgeable on all aspects of Kobe City. When my wife's knee was suddenly acting up at the beginning of the tour, Michelle rented a wheelchair to go down from the top cable car station to the mid station at Nunobiki Herb Gardens. She took us to an excellent Kobe Beef Steak House for lunch. When my wife wanted to buy a specific Japanese product, Michelle knew exactly where to go. Michelle sequenced our tour of the City to minimize the walking distance for my wife.

Fun busy day in Kobe

Michelle was a great tour guide. We met at the JR Motomachi train station and walked to several sites in Kobe. Since a bowl of ramen was on my wish list, she took us to a great place for lunch as well as helped me find a Japanese lipstick requested by a friend. My husband and I saw Haborland, the giant fish statue, a beautiful shrine with magical fox statues and a charming mosque tucked in an ā€œinternationalā€ neighborhood that also sported a Cuban restaurant as well as the most charming and delicious smelling French bistro. Michelle answered my many questions and was energetic and cheerful during our 7 hour tour.
