Itinerary

It is ideal to wear a kimono during the traditional tea ceremony. The best thing at Maikoya is that you can dress up and enjoy the ceremony in an authentic tea ceremony room without leaving our facility. We are the only place in Tokyo where a group of any size can get engage in various cultural activities, including tea ceremony, in a traditional setting. *Even if you are late for your appointment, you can still enjoy wearing a kimono after the tea ceremony, but expect a possible wait.

Tea in a Kimono!

Very fun experience, dressing up in kimonos and learning about Japanese tea ceremony. Lots of opportunities to take photos. Highly recommend! You can walk around town until a certain time, if you choose. We were happy taking photos at their “setups” there and did not leave the building. Great experience!

Loved being dressed in traditional way. Tea ceremony was interesting. The teamaker explained everything beautifully. The room was very artistically decorated. Real enjoyable experience.

I enjoyed myself immensely at this experience. My host, Kyoko, was graceful, warm, and patient from start to end. I really appreciated her explanations and leave with a better understanding of the Tea Ceremony. Definitely looking forward to bringing my friends/family to this experience in future.

Absolutely exquisite! From the gorgeous kimonos to the authentic mats - the tea room was very ceremonious! And best was ours host- quite personable, meticulous and knowledgeable- loved the whole experience.
