Overview

A full day adventure on bikes, boats, and trains at two of Japan's must-see destinations. Starting the day on two wheels, experience a thought-provoking and sensitive commentary on the history of Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park and Castle. From here, take a local train and ferry to Miyajima Island, where you can enjoy the contrast between with the stunning Shinto buildings and lush greenery of the island. Once on the island, you will learn about the culture of the island, explore the sites with your guide, greet the local deer, enjoy a regional lunch (vegetarian options are available but for other dietary requirements please get in touch), and discover the famous Itsukushima Shrine. Return to Hiroshima City in the manner you arrived and get evening recommendations from your neighbourhood guide.

Great Tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima

We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly, even though some parts of the tour were very sombre. Our tour guide Aimee-Linh was very approachable, energetic and knowledgeable. Her time management was spot on. We learned a great deal from her, especially at the Peace Memorial Park. Lunch was also very enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this tour to first time visitors to Hiroshima.

Setonaikai National park and Hiroshima Peace park

This tour was amazing! Amy (our host) was very knowledgeable about everything from Japanese culture and history, to WWII history, to local architecture. The route to the ferry was very safe and the bikes were in good condition, Amy’s knowledge of the local area meant we took different routes to and from the ferry to enhance our experience, while all the while, she ensured our safety. During parts of the ride around Peace Park, Amy was sure to ask if censoring of information was required as we had young teenage girls on the ride, and she didn’t want to upset them. The whole day, including our experience on Setonaikai National Park (which was truely beautiful and amazing) was well scheduled and efficient, including Ramen noodles for lunch. Amy speaks multiple languages and is a very pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable lady, highly recommend her tours.

A memorable day in Hiroshima

I love a good bike tour and this one did not disappoint. We filled the day with lovely meandering through tree-filled paths, visits to the sights, a train and ferry ride, and yummy foods. Ihsan was a great guide with true passion for the city of Hiroshima. Bikes were sturdy and easy to ride. Zero issues. All great.
