the first real day of our trip to Japan, we met our guide from Asageshiki at Hiroshima station. We had a lovely talk while we walked to the first stop on our morning tour and found out a bit about history, as well as the area. She has grown up in the area and so was knowledgeable. We started the day at a temple and were able to learn about many of the practices one should follow when visiting a shrine, as well as the meaning of many of the practices. This shrine did withstand, although renovated, the atomic blast, and was where many of the wounded were brought. Next we went up 433 steps to the top of a mountain in a first, an amazing forest smack dab in the city, a lot of it was original and had survived. We got more lessons on history, culture, as well as a workout. We also found out that a portion of our tour fee was used by Asageshiki group and many volunteers to care for and improve the path up the mountain, we got to see progress photos of their work, which was very impressive. Finally we reach the top for an absolutely amazing view of the city. After soaking that in we had the opportunity to have a very delicious bento box style breakfast and tea ceremony. It was honestly the best way to start our trip in hiroshima. As we walked back down the mountain we were able to get good advice about our plans for the day as well as advice on places to eat. I must recommend this tour for anyone coming to the area if you are fit enough for a slow, but lengthy climb. You will be rewarded with knowledge, a tasty meal, and an amazing view.

We took the tour in late April and the weather was perfect. We had a clear view over Hiroshima whilst enjoying a cup of matcha. The tour guide (Michi) is a very lovely lady, we enjoyed her company very much and it was a pleasure getting to know her. At first we went to a local temple and afterwards took a short hike up a hill which is close to the temple. There we went to a Buddha memorial. Afterwards we had the forest bathing experience, but don’t wore, you won’t have to bring swimming trunks, as bathing means absorbing the forest itself. The main part of the tour was the tea ceremony, in which Michi prepared freshly brewed matcha for the two of us and explained more about the cultural aspect. She even gave us tips as where to head next on our city trip and what places are worth a visit. Overall a very nice experience with a lovely tour guide :)

We visited the Traditional Lacquer Art Studio of Naoya Takayama, World Renowned Japanese Lacquer Artist and Craftsman together with Hotta Michiyo our English speaking tour guide and interpreter. I can recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in Japanese Craft

Nana was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed spending the morning with her and the other tourists. Only three of us came this time. The tour also supports the maintenance and beautification of the trail, so I felt very positive about being there.

Wanted to know what was up north above hiroshima station. Surprisingly peaceful and quiet experience. my guide Naomi is quite knowledgeable and when walked me through Toshogu shrine then up a hill from that shrine. Explaining various historical facts about the area and shrine etiquette . Up on top, it's a wonderful view overlooking Hiroshima city and Miyajima. And a informal tea ceremony to enjoy the peace. Highly recommend if you looking for some peace and quiet and want to know more.
