Overview

We will visit during 4 hours Gion, Kyoto traditionnal district. We will the traditionnal architecture of Kyoto Machiya (Kyoto old houses), Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples while chilling near the numerous shops. We could even come across geishas if we are lucky enough!

What To Expect

1. Kamogawa River Iconic river of Kyoto with its long promenade where citizens like to meet and have a good time 30 minutes

2. Gion Shirakawa Shirakawa Street, bordered by Shirakawa river, a good introduction to discovering Gion 30 minutes

3. Yasaka Shrine Shinto shrine from the mid-7th century and at the origin of this district 30 minutes

4. Sannenzaka Ninenzaka Visit of this part of old Kyoto, passing through Hokanji and Sannenzaka 30 minutes

5. Nene-no-Michi We go back to the north of Gion and continue your visit. 30 minutes

6. Maruyama Park Park full of greenery, sakura in spring and maple leaves in autumn. 30 minutes

7. Hanamikoji Street Another part of the traditional Gion district, with its Kyoto Machiya, cafes, restaurants and tea houses 30 minutes

8. We will walk in this famous temple, where was introduced zen and tea in Japan. Then, we come back to our starting point. 30 minutes
