Overview

Kuiburi National Park is the only place in Thailand where more than 320 protected wild elephants live and you will have the unique 99% opportunity to see them in this untouched wildlife. In addition to Asian elephants and gaurs, the other relatively common mammals are golden jackals, various deer, langurs, white-handed gibbons, Burmese hares, Malay porcupines and wild boars. Kui Buri has a rich fauna of birds with over 260 species currently. Crested falcons, grey peacock pheasants, ferrous partridges, Tickell's brown hornbills, white-crowned hornbills, brown fish owls, yellow-ventilated green pigeons, white-fronted dwarf-eared owls, mustache hawks, red-necked hornbills, blue-collared parrots, chestnut-nickel fork tails, red-bearded bee-eaters, maroon woodpeckers.There are also birds like the Crested Fireback, Indian Roller and Asian Openbill bird or even gaurs and leopards.

Itinerary

Kui Buri National Park

Arrive at the Kui Buri Visitor Center. A National Park guided safari-style vehicle must be booked on arrival if you wish to visit the Huai Luek Wildlife Watching Area and you can see Elephants and other animals coming out to find food. There are still about 320 Protected Wild Elephants living in this National Park and you will see them coming out to eat. Let's also visit the beautiful dry-moist forest and we can spot some birds such as the Crested Fireback, Indian Roller and Asian Openbill bird! Sometimes we could spot some Gaurs, Leopards.

Amazing trip

Absolutely fantastic to see the elephants thriving in the nature. When you arrive by bus, you switch to a safari jeep that drives the group through the park. Our guide was great at telling the story of the park, the locals and the elephants. She was also very good at answering questions. It was fascinating to see so many elephants, don't know how many we saw, but it was a lot. The scenery in the park is also stunning.

Phenomenal time with the Elephants

Fantastic experience. We had a phenomenal time on our visit. The landscape was beautiful near and in the national park, our guide was great, as was the guide from the national park who accompanied us in the park. We saw dozens of Elephants - from 2 month old babies and other young ones to older ones (probably around 40 - 50). We were particularly lucky and, after seeing many different herds, came across a final group just before we left the park that crossed the road right in front of us. Didn't see any guars, but we were so amazed by the elephants, we didn't care. An amazing experience - very highly recommend it

If you are in Hua Hin, this is a must-do tour. The tour inside Kuiburi National Park is incredible. We saw a bunch of Asian Elephants, Guar, and various wildlife. The tour guide spoke English very well and was a wealth of knowledge. The meal at the end was a bonus.

Great trip to Kui Buri

The trip to the national park was a great experience. We got picked up at our hotel and on the 1.5 hour drive to Kui Buri the guide had a lot of interesting/humourous information about the surroundings. At the park we did have that much luck with spotting elefants until we managed to see three elefants last minute. But even if we would not have encountered any elefants, I would definitely recommend the trip because the guide made it very interesting!

Wonderful experience with friendly, knowledgeable guides. We were collected from our hotel and the whole excursion was ran very smoothly. Our driver and guides were very happy to answer our many questions as we traveled around park and we learned about the agriculture, culture and landscape as well as lots about the wildlife. We finished with a lovely traditional dinner on the way back to the hotels. Great experience
