My wife and I spent 2 great days with Ardi visiting the cultural sights around Yogyakarta (Borobudur, Prambanan etc.), tasting the local food and learning about the history, culture and life in Central Java.
From our initial contact he was extremely helpful, listening to what we wanted to see and offering various suggestions and ideas on how we can best achieve it within our time frame, and gave advice on hotel prices and areas in which to stay.
From first meeting him at the airport we both found Ardi very friendly and easy to get on with, and by the time we left the carpark we were chatting like good friends.
Our tour was great and more than just taking us to see things, Ardi explained to us the history and significance of each sight, what the art meant and how these incredibly beautiful and unique sights, making them all the more fascinating to see and experience.
Ardi also took us to some great local food spots to try some local dishes (Nasi Goreng, Martabak, Luwak coffee), and was happy to cater to my wife, who is vegetarian, so she could also try the (very delicious) food.
With Ardi you get a tour guide that is really enthusiastic about his work and his energy is extremely contagious. He cares about the other people involved in the tourism industry and tries to ensure all the activities included work both for the tourists and the locals, which is always appreciated. And he makes sure you have a great time filled with fun, laughter and genuine experiences. When we left him at the airport it was like saying goodbye to a good friend.
