Overview

Petchaburi, one of the oldest provinces in Thailand. The full day tour brings you to visit the Summer Palace of King Rama 5 in the Phra Nakhon Khiri a historical park in Phetchaburi, on the Khao Wang hill overlooking the city. Visit one of Thailand's oldest temple Wat Mahathat Worawihan and the Tham Khao Luang Cave complex which is filled with Buddha statues of different sizes and in different positions.

  • Khao Wang (Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park)

    Khao Wang or Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park is a notable tourist site in Petchaburi Province; it is the symbol of the province. Khao Wang is very outstanding and obviously be seen from a far distance, including the white chedi and buildings. Khao Wang is the ancient remains of Petchaburi Province which are located on the 92-meter-high mountain. We will take the Cable Car to go to the Top of the Mountain.

  • Wat Mahathat Worawihan

    Centrally located, gleaming white Wat Mahathat is one impressive temple. The showpiece is a 42m-tall five-tiered Ayuthaya-style prang (corn-cob shaped stupa) decorated in stucco relief, a specialty of Phetchaburi’s local artisans you'll see all over town. Inside the wí·hăhn (sanctuary) that fronts it are important, though highly damaged, early-20th-century murals.

  • Tham Khao Luang Cave

    About 4km north of town is Khao Luang Cave, a dramatic stalactite-stuffed cavern that's one of Thailand’s most impressive cave shrines, and a favorite of King Rama IV when he was a monk. Accessed via steep stairs, it's lit by a heavenly glow every morning (clouds permitting) when sunbeams filter in through the natural skylight.

Very enjoyable tour.

The summer palace and cave temples were amazing. I would build in 15 minutes extra to shop at the shops before the cable car. They had lovely clothes but there was no time factored in to really check them out properly.

Our guide was so personable and informative, the chosen sites were amazing and to top it off the lunch was great. We had a small group of 9 people and by the end of the trip we were all friends with a shared memory.

A very pleasant trip. Well organised. Nice minibus and an excellent guide who spoke good English. A great way to explore somewhere a bit different to Hua Hi. Highly recommended.

Great 1/2 day excursion. Comfortable mini bus with cold AC. Picked up from the property we were staying in a timely manner. Our guide was pleasant and knowledgeable. The cave was mystical. Good idea to wear slip resistant shoes while on this part of the tour. A good many steps and slippery rocks. Nothing too crazy, but you needed to watch where you were stepping. The castle was like stepping back in time. The lunch was authentic, fresh, and delicious

Kate our guide was amazing from the start of the tour. We were picked up on time and set off on the tour. Although it was quite humid, the pace of the tour was perfect. Our guide Kate was informative about the things on the tour and was the perfect guide.... information interspersed with conversation. When parts of the tour were challenging to negotiate, the tour was slowed down, but there was always a chat going on about the tour or life in general. The lunch that was provided was delicious and simple. Even though the tour finished up early, we felt that we had received vale for money in that we were the only 2 on the tour and were treated with respect. Great tour and highly recommend!
