This is your one of a kind opportunity to find out about Dubrovnik and Croatia - their foundations, growth, zenith, fall, communism, recent war from 1991 and current times. Our guides will captivate you with their stories while you'll have so many photo opportunities you probably won't move your finger from the shutter. Our groups are smaller, our guides are local, they have an official license and they are fun. Also, visiting the walls will be a moderate workout since there are about 1.000 stairs, but just like with anything in life - if you want great photos and tales to tell after your holidays, it's worth putting a little bit of effort into it :)

Itinerary

  • Amerling Fontana

    We commence at the Amerling fountain, location is Brsalje 2, next to Dubravka gift shop, outside of the old town walls. The guide will have a blue umbrella.

  • Dubrovnik City Walls

    We take the steps onto the city walls at the western entrance (across the Onofrio fountain). Our first stop is right above the main street from where you will have the best view . Your guide will introduce you to the rich history of the town.

  • Fort Bokar

    The key point of defense of the western entrance to the city. Beautiful view of Fort Lawrence.

    The southern section of the wall. Round fortress. Point of defense between Tower Bokar and Fortress of St. John against possible danger from the sea.

a highlight of our trip

We took the 2 hour sunset tour with Michaela purchased through GetYourGuide . She paced the tour so that we had ample time to rest after the intermittent uphill stairs along the wall and provided interesting history about Dubrovnik and Croatia including personal notes. It was a very enjoyable tour and a highlight of our trip to Croatia.

Daniela was an amazing guide! She obviously enjoys her job, was knowledgeable, and open to answering questions. Dubrovnik city walls was breathtaking and it was a bonus to have it end with the sunsetting! (the 4:00 tour)

Our tour guide Daniel was an absolute gem. She wasn’t only interesting but took an interest in everyone in our small group. She shared some fascinating information as well as a bit of a tear jerker of her own family’s experiences. I would highly recommend this tour. Was a perfect time to do the tour as the sun was at its lowest in the day. highly recommended.

The tour was amazing. Our tour guide, Deśa was very knowledgeable about the history of Dubrovnik. She also gave plenty of recommendations for other things to do and places to eat around the city. She was also very good and patient with my wife who had a fear of heights. Great Tour, with a great guide. Highly recommend.

I liked this so much I sent others on the same tour the next morning. Deca was amazing, giving so much of the history of Dubrovnik as well as information about the culture. She gave recommendations on where to eat and even helped me with instructions for bus including # and stop nearest my hotel. You should do this tour right away as she will help you enjoy rest of your time in Dubrovnik. Yes, lots of steps but stops to tell you about history or views are well timed to catch your breath and take a break
