What To Expect

1. You take a train to Ohmi Hachiman station. 1 hour 30 minutes

2. Ohmihachiman is a charming historic city in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, known for its traditional architecture, scenic canals, and connection to the Omi merchants. Walking through Ohmihachiman offers a relaxing journey into Japan's past, blending natural beauty with rich cultural history. 2 hours

3. Hachiman-bori One of the most scenic spots, the canal is lined with old merchant houses and willow trees. You can stroll along the peaceful banks or take a boat ride to enjoy the surroundings from the water. 30 minutes

4. Kawara Museum The Kawara Museum in Ohmihachiman is dedicated to the art and history of traditional Japanese roof tiles, known as kawara. It offers a unique glimpse into the cultural significance of these tiles, which have been used for centuries in Japanese architecture, especially in temples, shrines, and traditional homes. This museum closes every Mondays, so we go to different spots if you book this tour on Monday. 30 minutes

5. You take a gondola. (or climb up the hill) 1 hour

6. Ruins of Mt. Hachiman Castle You return to Osaka Station. This marks the end of our tour (Osaka station or anywhere you want) 30 minutes

7. You return to Osaka Station. This marks the end of our tour (Osaka station or anywhere you want) 1 hour 30 minutes

8. We will return to Kyoto satation. 20 minutes
