An absolutely wonderful day!!!!! Stunning scenery, amazing wines, and an utterly professional guide who went above and beyond. Taken to some hidden gems and managed to avoid tourists, we highly recommend Anselmo’s tour. Loved every minute of it!

We were visiting Porto for the first time and had the good fortune of being referred to Anselmo. We didn’t have a plan but wanted an introduction to Porto and the surrounding area. With those vague guidelines Anselmo created the most wonderful day for my daughter and me. By the end of the day we had the best introduction ever. It was the highlight of our journey! We were introduced to traditional villages surrounding Porto, historical sites and beautiful natural spaces. In addition we had great wine and food. Anselmo was fantastic. If you visit Porto. Your first call should be to Anselmo. We are already thinking of our next visit.

We had some rain, but that did not deter Anselmo from giving us an incredibly good visit to the Douro Valley! Excellent driver. Very positive attitude! He knows the history and all of the secrets! Be sure to give him a good tip. He deserves it!

We (a group of 4 friends/2 couples) booked Anselmo for a private tour to the Douro Valley this October. The forecast was terrible but Anselmo was convinced we would be fine and he was right. As soon as we came through the mountains from the city side the skies cleared and we even had some sun. First of- Anselmo is a good driver so I could relax in the car which was great. Also his English is excellent which is a bonus. He is funny, friendly and knowledgeable about the area, landscape, history and about wine and port in particular. We learned a lot and he answered all of our questions patiently. He took us to incredible spots and we ate and drank like royalty and had a boat ride and just really enjoyed the atmosphere. There was no checking his watch and herding us along. We really felt like we could take our time and really experience the beauty around us. The personal touches really make a private tour so worthwhile. I would highly recommend Anselmo and his enthusiasm and love for his city/country and region. We will be back some day for sure!
