    Overview

    It is the Perfect tour for nature and heritage lovers… there is some breathtaking landscape and I will tell you more about the Cathars… This tour will also enable you to discover 2 picturesque medieval villages. This tour require a good physical condition, and good walking shoes to be able to hike to Montségur castle. Accessible to any person with a good physical condition able to hike. I can lend 4 walking sticks.

    Pick up in any hotels, bed and breakfast around Toulouse. Pick up from and train station, Airport or port. Any point of pick up is accepted if around Toulouse.

    What To Expect


    1. Chateau de Montsegur We then drive to the Château de Montségur, where during a1hr30 round hike I will tell you the dramatic story and tragedy of the Crusade against the Cathars which occured in the 12th century. We then spend a relaxing lunch, enjoying the local cuisine.  2 hours
    2. Mirepoix Next stop is Mirepoix, a beautiful medieval village (it has an amazing outdoor market every Monday morning), the earliest mention of the place dates back to the 10th century. 1 hour
    3. Camon Next stop is for a relaxing walk in Camon, picturesque medieval village, classified amongst the most beauftiful villages of France, it is also known for its hundreds rose trees that are perfuming and decorating the streets. Camon was founded around a Benedictine abbey in the Xth century. 1 hour
