Meeting Point

Luxembourg Garden Porte Saint Michel Getting there by metro/train: RER B Luxembourg, take exit "Luxembour garden" and walk towards the Saint Michel door. Getting there by taxi: ask for "Luxembourg garden 67 Boulevard Saint Michel"

What To Expect

1. Luxembourg Gardens One of the most beautiful gardens in Paris, you will certainly enjoy discovering its charming treasures in any season of the year. 20 minutes

2. La Sorbonne Come discover Paris' most important University and picturesque surroundings.

3. Quartier Latin Some of the most charming streets in the city of lights have existed for centuries. Small coffee shops, libraries, restaurants and traditional houses will make your visit unique. 30 minutes

4. Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris Join us to walk near by this unique building. Paris Cathedral is now closed for visitors but we will walk around to have a look and great photos with it. 10 minutes

5. Ile Saint-Louis An iconic place that you can not miss, this Paris Islands is one of the most charming places of the city. 20 minutes

6. Eglise Saint-Gervais Saint-Protais We will pass then behind this beautiful church, walking by the rue des Barres.

7. Rue Francois Miron Come discover some of the Medieval treasures Paris hides.

8. Le Marais Let's walk around this particular and charming neighbourhood. 30 minutes

9. Place des Vosges We will end up in this particular and charming royal square. 20 minutes

The perfect guide

I sought a guide for this trip t Paris because I had a sense that I had missed much on my previous visits, and I hoped for a guide who could connect me to the history of this wonderful city with a depth of perception and nuance that you can’t get from a guide book. Isadora exceeded my most optimistic expectations. She is an architect by profession and that gives her a very human perspective on the way in which Paris has evolved over the centuries. She explained the concentric nature of Paris’ development, the significance of the forms hill top villages like Montmartre and the character they lend to the city, and the history and evolution of iconic buildings including the Louvre and the Palais Royale. If you have any interest in architecture and cities as lived spaces, Isadora is the guide for you. She speaks perfect idiomatic English and is in every respect delightful company. I plan to return to Paris in about six months; another tour with Isadora will be the highlight of that. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
