Overview

Your certified surf instructor will coach you step by step on how to stand up on a surfboard and start flying on water! We will customize your Tamarindo surf lesson to focus on basic techniques. We guarantee you to get up on a wave in your lesson or your second lesson is free! Tamarindo, Costa Rica is a world-renowned surf location, made famous for the movie The Endless Summer. There are almost always great waves, but not too big, perfect for learning to surf. Whether this is your first time on a surfboard or you have some experience and want to work on your technique, our lessons are guaranteed to improve your skills. Our 2-hour lessons are taught by locals that have been surfing in Costa Rica for nearly their entire lives, so you will get the best insight there is in Tamarindo. - Learn to Surf on Costa Rica's Best Waves - Learn Various Basic Skills such as Reading Waves - Local certified instructor - Beginner or Intermediate Lessons - Central Meeting Location

Itinerary

You will meet with your instructor and be given a rashguard and Surfboard. After practicing popping up on the board on land, you will learn to paddle out into the waves! Your instructor will help coach you on standing up on the board. After you get accustomed to getting up on the board, you will focus more on your stance and balance on the board as you feel the waves push you through the water. We will customize your Tamarindo surf lesson will focus on the following techniques: - Paddling - Popping up - Board Position - Stance - Safety - Etiquette - Reading Waves

Patsy was such an amazing instructor! She was extremely patient and very knowledgeable, as well as being very easy to talk to. We were slightly late but she was very accommodating and calm. Me and my sister were both surfing small waves on our own by the end of the 2 hours and neither of us had ever surfed before. Thank you Patsy!

Our instructor was fantastic. He worked with our family of 4 to teach us the basics and get us up and riding waves. He spent time making sure my son felt confident, gave my daughter the next level instruction she needed and was super patient and supportive. We had an absolute blast and all four of us got up and rode waves. A perfect way to wrap our Costa Rican vacation.

The coach Martine was really helpful. Even if you have zero experience, he’ll help you get on the board and have some fun! I was able to stand and surf many times with his help. Great experience!

This was the perfect beginner surf lesson. Instructor was awesome. Very encouraging and supportive. Everyone in family got to participate to their desired level. Three even got up on their feet and surfed. Two hours was plenty.

We loved the surf lesson! It was the first time surfing and we were able to stand up and catch waves by ourselves. Our instructor, Luca, was making sure we have the best time and giving us constant tips. Totally recommended :)
