Tirta Gangga Water Palace is one of the most popular Bali Places of Interest designed and constructed in 1948 by Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem (1887 - 1966), who was the last king of Karangasem. He was a remarkable man to say the least, not only because he was the architect of the water gardens but also because he helped with the construction of the gardens. A lot of people were astonished to find the Raja amidst his lower class laborers, working knee deep in the mud digging out the pools and ponds.

Taman Ujung Sukasada is one of the most popular Bali Places of Interest located in the village of Seraya in Karangasem regency, its the sister site of Tirta Gangga, also built by the late raja of Karangasem. The complex consists of various large pools and historic structures set against a backdrop of Mount Agung and the eastern shoreline. The site suffered near devastation by showers of hot ash following the eruption of nearby Mount Agung in 1963 and also weathered an earthquake in 1979. Restoration efforts throughout the decades made way to its current splendor and it continues to appeal to both locals and visitors.

Great communication from pick up to drop off, Wayan was friendly and approachable had a good knowledge of the sites. Was even flexible enough to offer us the chance to swap any stops if we wished. You wonāt go wrong if you get him as a driver.
A most enjoyable experience

My wife and I did the East Bali Tour with Bali Full Day Tour company on 08 May. We selected this private tour online, based on the sightseeing locations that were mentioned on the itinerary. Payment was made in full to the driver on the day, at the start of the tour. This was a private tour with just my wife and I in a very comfortable car with a knowledgeable driver, Gusti Ekaputra. On the way we could stop at a Money Exchange, Indomaret (for a toilet stops and snack purchase) and at any other point along the route for taking photos. The tour was excellent, though long, given the distances to be covered to reach the sightseeing areas as we were staying at the Amnaya Resort in Kuta. Gusti was very friendly and courteous and gave us many interesting facts about the sightseeing locations we visited and about Bali in general. We were very happy to have him as our driver. For the East Bali Tour, we covered Kertha Gosa, which also has a small museum in an adjacent building, Goa Lawah Temple (Bat temple), Tenganan Traditional village, Tirta Gangga Water Garden which was very unique and lovely. We had lunch at a very pretty restaurant just a short walk away from Tirta Gangga. Our final stop for the day was the Water Palace, Taman Ujung Suksada. A very beautiful and picturesque location. At Taman Ujung one can climb the many steps to the top end of the garden for a magnificient view of the landscape with the sea visible in the background. All in all, a most enjoyable day.
Amazing day out

We had a wonderful day out with Gusti our driver. He was knowledgeable on every place we went, his english was good. We were not rushed and given plenty of time to see the sites. The set lunch was very tasty and quiickly served. The day was long, but comfortable in an air conditioned car. Highlights for us were the Goa Lawah temple, with sacred bats and a few monkeys too. Sarongs were provided. The Tenganan village was peaceful and serene giving us insight to traditional balinese lifestyle. Our final stop was Taman Ujung Sukasada the water palace. Well worth paying for the full package, we were happy.

We had a great day out. Everything went to plan from the start to the finish. Our guide Hari drive really carefully and we had plenty of time at each location. Highly recommend !!

We had an absolutely wonderful time. From pickup (which was on time), wonderful conversations, to great food, we had a great tour. Our tour guide Aditya was awesome and made the whole experience great.
