Overview

A unique experience that begins in the old town of Aix-en-Provence. Discover the oldest food market in Provence and be captivated by the choice, freshness and variety of the local produce. Then take a tour with us through the Provençal countryside to Château de Beaupré, a family of winemakers since 1890, when Baron Emile Double planted vines and created the winery. The fourth generation of the family now work together to perpetuate the winemaking traditions on this exceptional 43 hectares of organic vines set in the countryside to the north of Aix-en-Provence. Château Bonisson an extraordinary place. Both a destination and a source of inspiration, it is an epicentre of creativity with a streak of independence. The estate – a beautifully preserved oasis of charm with its 18th century country house and Italianate terrace overlooking vineyards bounded by woods and a hill studded with ancient oaks and art centre.

Pickup Details

We can arrange to pick up outside the 15km radius of Marseille, Aix-en-Provence or Avignon, subject to a surcharge of 75€ each way. This surcharge is payable via our website in advance at OohProvence or in cash on the day. You can also pre-order and pay for lunch with wine on the day of your tour. 1. Statue of Paul Cezanne Starting point on our journey to trace the steps of Cézanne and visit the tiny streets bustling markets and soak up the ambience of this historic town.

2. Aix-en-Provence Walking tour of the old town to discover the street markets 1 hour

3. Chateau De Beaupre Visit to this ancient winery with wine tasting 1 hour

4. A visit to this exceptional wine maker with an interesting contemporary art centre. 1 hour

Beyond Fabulous

One of the best private tours I've ever taken. Christopher is beyond phenomenal. His keen photograhic attention to detail pointed out things we never would've seen; and his knowledge of history is over the top. Will definitely sign up with him for other regional tours next time we're there. Can't say enough about Chris and our half-day with him. Very engaging.

Our tour was 6/18/19. Christopher (our guide) was very professional and extremely knowledgeable of the area. He was eager to provide us with an experience we could remember for a long time. Ours was a private tour (but could be a small group). We loved the walk through Aix, the streets and markets, and the beautiful views of the countryside as well as a wonderful lunch (our expense) Christopher arranged before our tour. We visited 2 wineries as well which we also liked. Well done Christopher!!

Christopher customized a tour for us to visit different vineyards in Provence. We had an excellent day! He was very knowledgeable and organized. He provided lots of information about each place we visited. It was a beautiful area and perfect for our honeymoon! Thank you Christopher!
