Overview

Revel in a ropeway ride to Asahidake, the tallest of the Daisetsuzan mountains comprising a range of peaks towering around 2,000 meters located roughly in the center of Hokkaido. Destinations to be visited will vary depending on the season. Enjoy seeing the mysterious Blue Pond in early summer (June to August), or a magnificent field of colorful flowers at Shikisai-no-Oka around summer to autumn (September to October). Take a leisurely tour around central Hokkaido using a hired car accompanied by an English-speaking guide.

Meeting Point

Meet at 9:00 am at Asahikawa Station North Gate (East Side) in front of Tourist Information Center. The guide will be waiting for customers. Please be at the meeting location at least 10 minutes before departure.

What To Expect

1. Asahidake Ropeway Delight in the sight of the Daisetsuzan mountains, comprising a range of peaks towering around 2,000 meters located roughly in the center of Hokkaido. 2 hours

2. Customers are to have their own lunch (charges not included in the tour) at the dining hall at the Asahidake Ropeway Sanroku Station. 1 hour

3. Shirogane Blue Pond [June - August] Revel in the scenery of a magical blue color contrasting with Japanese larch trees. 30 minutes

4. Shirahige Falls [June - August] This waterfall was named for the way it splashes and cascades, resembling a white beard. 20 minutes

5. Shikisai no Oka [September - October] The sight of a vast field of flowers carpeting the countryside is simply stunning. Flowers in bloom in September/October: pansies, marigolds, kochia, kikarashi, etc. *The blooming period varies depending on the weather. 1 hour

The last reception day (reservation deadline) is 30 days prior to the tour.
If the tour is canceled, customers will be notified by the conducting company or their travel agent.
This is a special tour for international visitors. Please understand that residents of Japan cannot make bookings for this tour.
The tour may be canceled or the course altered in case ropeway operation is suspended or inclement weather (poor visibility due to strong winds, snowstorms, etc.) is in the forecast.We will be guided to one of the following alternative destinations. (The tour will not be canceled and refunds will not be issued for this reason.) Goto Sumio Art Museum, Restaurant Furano, Miyamatoge Art Park (Trick Art Museum), Takushinkan, Roadside Station Biei Shirogane Biruke, Biei Shrine.
Cancellation may occur due to traffic obstruction caused by heavy snowfall in Asahikawa City and Higashikawa Town.
The times noted in the itinerary are estimates only, and may vary depending on circumstances.
If making plans for before or after the tour on the same day, and for those joining from outside Hokkaido, please leave enough time in your schedule.

Participants are free to have their own lunch (lunch not included in the tour). There is a restaurant at the Asahidake Ropeway Sanroku Station. Hours: 11:00 - 15:30 (last order 15:00)

Young children up to 5 years old may join free of charge, but hired car seats will not be provided. Children requiring seats must be booked under the child rate. If there are more than 2 young children not booked under the child rate for each adult or child customer, hired car seats are required for the 3rd child onward. Please book them under the child rate.
Depending on the number of tour participants, transportation to be used may be other than a hired car (passenger vehicle, van, minivan), a large bus (mid-size bus, small bus), or a taxi.
Please participate in clothes and shoes that are easy to move around in.
Parental permission in writing is necessary for all tour participants under the age of eighteen. Any participant under the age of fifteen or not yet enrolled in middle school must be joined by a parent or guardian on the tour.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
