Overview

Scenic bus tour along the south coast and then water taxi to Yelapa. During the Winter months, we have a good chance of spotting whales as they made their way from Alaska to our bay during the Fall. In Yelapa, we will enjoy the peace and solitude of the sleepy carless village. visit the history museum in the very heart of the village and hike 10 minutes to the lovely waterfall. For lunch, we will choose a beachfront bar/cafe and relax for 1 to 3 hours on the beach before our return to PV. In PV we will taste up to 10 different Tequilas Including bloncos, Reposados, Anejos and flavored dessert Tequilas. Also Mezcal and Raicillas. Price does not include the 200-300 peso water taxi fee per person each way.

Itinerary

  • Playa de los Muertos (Pass By)

    This beach is considered the most popular in Puerta Vallarta. You will pass by as you bus to the water taxi.

  • Bay of Banderas (Pass By)

    catch the water taxi and boat to Yelapa across the beautiful Bay of Banderas. In the winter keep an eye out for whales. Whales make the trek from Alaska to Mexico in the fall and Winter in the Bay off the coast of Puerto Vallarta.

  • Los Arcos de Mismaloya (Pass By)

    Bus along the granite islands that make up part of the National Marine Sanctuary will millions of protected birds and fish.

  • Boca de Tomatlan

    Arrive by bus and walk through the village to catch the water taxi to Yelapa.

    Hike the paths and stairs of the car-less fishing village of Yelapa. All supplies are brought to Yelapa by boat. On our hikes we will visit the town waterfall and spend time there playing in the water and relaxing. We we will visit the local Museum and then have free time (approx. 2 to 3 hours) to have lunch at a waterfront cafe/bar and play on the beach.

Amazing day at the beautiful fishing village of Yelapa! Our guide Daniel was excellent and made sure everyone enjoyed the experience. I would recommend eating at the authentic Mexican restaurant on the way down from the incredible waterfall rather than the tourist focused restaurants on the beach.

Great relaxing day checking out the small fishing village of Yelapa. Our tour guide Daniel was charming and helpful. Beautiful waterfall and lots of places to eat.

Highly recommend Yelpa Tour

Although cloudy, we had a excellent day in Yelpa! Daniel, our guide, met our group at the given location and we were off. Part of the fun was getting there. A bus ride about 30 minutes outside the city to a small fishing village, then a small transport boat to Yelpa. Once there Daniel made sure we got to do things at our pace. We walked to the waterfall, not far, then a stop for a snack and off again to explore the town. If walking is not your thing, no worries you can do nothing but hang out on the wonderful beach. It’s a perfect place to get away from the city! This village is very picturesque! Finally we went to the lounge chairs where we just relaxed for the rest of the afternoon (aka drinking and eating). Then we were back on the boat to start our return. Last wonderful thing… a few hours later a text from Daniel to make sure we got back to our place safe and sound! Great having him… we could easily have done this journey on our own, but great having a guide to take away any worries! Example on the way back a couple who paid for a round trip ended up on our boat and had to pay again! ( most of these small boats look alike)

Having Daniel as our guide was very good, we appreciated his knowledge of navigating the narrow Yelapa streets. The waterfalls are beautiful, good food and awesome beach. Highly recommend this walking tour.
