Overview

Houston's only walking tour! In this group tour, you will dive into the history, architecture, and uniquely Texan ambience of the fourth biggest city in the United States: a modern-day melting pot of cultures with an old fashioned past that is all its own. From the oldest building in Houston to the tallest skyscraper in the city, we'll go on a journey through Houston's history and architecture. Wander through the city's Historic District and see some masterworks of Art Deco architecture of the early 20th century and discuss street art and murals of today. We'll sneak a ride on Houston's modern tramline (for free!) and travel between the city's Historic District and its ultra-modern Skyline District. We will walk for approximately 2 miles. Note that this tour is not wheelchair accessible.

Perfect walking tour for Cooler Months

I’ve always wanted to learn about the fantastic art on buildings across Houston. Well John’s walking tour was the perfect way to enjoy them. My friends and I enjoyed the morning together walking the city and learning about its history. If you’re new to Houston it’s a wonderful tour to try.

Perfect Guide and Tour

This was a wonderful way to spent a morning. John was engaging and very informative. Well-paced leisurely walk of 2 1/2 hours capturing both the history and highlights of Texas and Houston in particular. There was something for young and old. Break in middle for water, bathrooms, and a snack. Perfect weather and clear skies today. In summer wear hat and sunscreen.

Great way to spend 2.5 hrs in Houston while hubby was at a meeting! Start & end points are 1 block apart & just off tram line. John was a great guide! He spoke loud enough for our group of 20 and was very knowledgeable about the city, important people, architecture & mural artists. As a solo, John made a point to seek me out and sit with him during the 20 minute stop for restroom break, snack & beverage. Very nice tour!! Highly recommend!

Houston Walking Tour Exceeded Expectations

This walking tour exceeded all my expectations. I frequent downtown Houston and learned much more than I anticipated. I thought I would get some exercise and see a few murals. I didn't realize I'd be in for a well planned walk with John, a knowledgeable tour guide. It was great to learn the mural and artists backstories plus Houston/Texas/American/Mexican history.
