    The Houston Museum of Natural Science is located in the heart of the Houston Museum District across from Hermann Park. With world-class hospitality and knowledgeable staff, the museum will delight you with it's easy to follow layout, clearly marked displays and beautiful exhibit halls. Whether you are searching for the cafe or querying staff about the elemental symbol for gold, you are guaranteed to find whatever it is you are looking for with a minimal amount of effort and a substantial amount of excitement. Your voucher to the museum should be exchanged for your ticket upon arrival. Once you enter, you'll have the option to visit numerous permanent exhibits including North America's largest dinosaur hall and one of the most extensive gem and geode collections in the United States. The museum is perfect for families and school groups, tourist and locals and offers refreshments and food at the cafe.

This is an amazing museum. The dinosaur fossils are stunning. I loved the Faberge exhibit. This is definitely a must do for solo adults or family with kids. The King Tuts exhibit was on when I was there , and it was really cool and fantastic.

A great place in a great city

I've been to this museum before, and I'm still in awe everytime I go. I've seen many parts of it, but never the entire museum! My favorite area is the mineral area-- just beautiful! Low lights, soft music, and brilliant lighting on the exquisite stones. The butterfly museum is great for kids-- very interactive for many levels. As is the energy floor. Drive a tug boat! A great place to go in a great city to visit!

Amazing experiences at the Houston Museum!

We went on an expedition to the museum over our thanksgiving visit to Houston. What a fun outing! We toured the King Tut exhibit and it makes me wonder what the other Egyptian tombs must have been like since they were by fare bigger than Tut’s tomb. The cutaways of the sarcophagus was amazing and the feeling they created as if you were entering the actual tomb as one of the archaeologists did was well done. Then we headed to the butterfly exhibit. That is a work of living wonders. We saw butterflies enclosing from there chrysalis’s. Then wandering in the butterfly enclosure room! It was warm with feeding stations for butterflies to drink out of. Thousands of butterflies were flying around and occasionally landing on us as we wandered through the tropical plants. Well worth the visit!
