Overview

Roberto knows his pigs one by one; they are raised in a semi-wild state, with carefully selected feed and cereals grown in the Tuscan countryside. The experience is as rural as it is unforgettable; after a walk through the vineyards and the olive grove, you will have the opportunity to interact with "Ciro", the domestic pig, and to meet all his company of Cinta Senese pigs having fun in the mud. after meeting these cute animals (and maybe even taking some selfies with them), it will be time to delight your palate with a tasting platter of Cinta Senese cured meats or a quick lunch based on agricultural products, perhaps collected directly in the garden from you.

Itinerary

Walk through the vineyard and the olive grove, visit to the pig farm of Cinta Senese (an ancient breed from the Siena area characterized by a black coat with a white "belt"), interaction with pigs living in the semi-state wilderness, visit to our small cellar, tasting of cutting boards, lunch or dinner with our Cinta Senese cured meats and pecorino di pienza cheese, if the season allows it also fruit and vegetables harvested from our garden.

Highlight of our trip

The farm visit was the highlight of our trip. It was amazing to see how much they are accomplished on their farm. They produced enough olive oil and wine to supply themselves for the year….with extra to sell! And the pigs were adorable. Definitely book this adventure and make sure to include wine and charcuterie afterwards!

Memorable host and lunch setting

Beautiful drive to a cozy farm in Tuscany. Our host, Roberto, showed us his olive grove, pig farm and more. We were treated to a wonderful lunch with homemade wine, meats, cheese and more! The elegant porch overlooked the farm, providing a unique setting for a memorable meal. This is certainly a singular experience for those looking for a break from large cities or wineries.

We enjoyed driving from San Gimignano and finding this special little place to see a Tuscan pig farm. Roberto was so welcoming and prepared a wonderful home made lunch after a tour of his farm. The setting was perfect. We enjoyed his house wine made from grapes from his vineyard. Definitely a unique experience!

What an enjoyable way to get more of a local experience. The pigs are fun to visit, the wine and food were delicious and our host Roberto toured us through the olive groves and graciously answered our many questions!
