Overview

This is an experience for true wine lovers, selecting the best boutique wineries and tasting Brunello di Montalcino listed as one of the best wines in the world by the prestigious magazine Wine Spectator. All this while visiting 3 UNESCO's site and the famous Gladiator movies sceneries, crossing breathtaking hills and charming medieval small villages. This tour offers a small group experience for a maximum of 5 people with a private vehicle. The Tour guide will assist you during the entire day to satisfy all your request and show you the most beautiful part of Tuscany. So relax while you enter the heart of real Tuscany with medieval villages of incomparable charm, an ancient farming tradition that produces wine, cheese, cold cuts and excellent meat. This experience will give you the chance to try one of the best wines in the world like famous BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO AND NOBILE DI MONTEPULCIANO.

Itinerary

  • Monteriggioni (Pass By)

    You can relax while we are crossing the beautiful Chianti hills we arrive at the Medieval hilltop gem of Monteriggioni, a castle from 1213 with its beautiful walls.

  • Montalcino

    We make a stop in the medieval village of Montalcino, Here you will visit the fortress with boundary walls enriched with towers, with the imposing fourteenth century fortress that offers one of the most beautiful views onto Val d’Orcia. Montalcino has also narrow streets with dozens of wineries and artisans’ shops selling products of the territory. Here, you will visit a in a historic farm, you will be served a guided lunch-tasting of the renowned Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino, docg wines and a large selection of typical products of the territory and a delicious homemade desert. All this is followed by a visit to the cellars and some leisure time to enjoy the nature.

  • Val D'Orcia

    Here you will stop for panoramic views and take pictures of the amazing landscape where the shoot the movie The Gladiator. Through the hilly expanses of the old vineyards and olive groves, which characterize the splendid Chianti territory we reach Val d'Orcia, UNESCO heritage, a harmonious landscape of hills dotted with cypresses, interrupted by castles, churches, ancient villages of Etruscan origin and farms that accompany the route of the famous "Via Francigena".

  • Montepulciano

    Lastly, after a short journey on a panoramic road, we reach Montepulciano, enclosed by fortified walls and perched on a hill 600 metres above sea level between Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana. The town is renowned for its Noble wine where you can admire historical Palace. Here you will enjoy your free time walking along the steep streets, visiting the historical wine cellars and admire the splendid Renaissance buildings.

We had a very enjoyable day with our tour guide/host, Morad. He was informative and very pleasant to converse with. Lunch was excellent and the scenery was breathtaking! We had wine and olive oil sent back to the states because we loved them both. Highly recommend this tour.

A perfect blend of scenic beauty and wine appreciation

The wine tour of Montalcino and Montepulciano was an unforgettable experience. The breathtaking views of rolling hills, vineyards, and historic cities made every moment magical. The trip starts with about an hour ride to Siena, where we stopped for 20mins just to stretch our legs and see the Siena duomo from a far. Then another hour to Montalcino. This is a gem of a small city. We had 45mins to walk the city. Then onto the Brunello wine tasting which included a very tasty lunch. The Brunello was high quality. As a Brunello lover, I was very happy with the tasting. I bought a couple bottles to take with me. From there, we drove to Montepulciano. We had another wine tasting which was much shorter. I didn't love the wines but I'm not a huge fan of vino noble di Montepulciano. The tasting room was lovely though. We then had another 45mins or so to walk around the city. It's gorgeous. Our guide Morad was incredible. He answered all our questions and kept us on schedule. He gave us tid bits of information. He knows the best spots to stop for a few minutes for pictures. This is a really professionally run tour that I couldn't have been more happy with. Even if you aren't a wine lover, the views and the chance to see these cities is worth it. There really isn't any other option for reaching them other than private tours. And this is the one to pick.

We had the best time on our trip. Morad was so nice and knowledgeable...he really made the trip that more enjoyable. The wine, views and foods were postcard worthy. We didn't want it to end.

Excellent small group tour of Tuscany

This was an excellent 1 day tour. Our tour guide and Driver Morad was very informative of the area and the wines. He also gave us lots of good ideas for return trips. The small group in a smaller car is the best way to go to get into the smaller towns and closer so that you don’t have to walk so far. I highly recommend this company and highly recommend Morad.
