Overview

With equipped GT bus we will leave together for Monteriggioni, you will have entrance ticket for visiting Templar Museum and walking on the Medieval Walls, after the free time you will leave for the Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO heritage area characterized by expanses of emerald hills that turn into golden fields during the summer . In this beautiful area of Tuscany we will be the first to visit Montalcino, a village extremely known by true Tuscans for its wine, the best in all of Tuscany. In Montalcino, if included in the specific rate, it will be possible to taste local wines and products of the Tuscan medieval tradition. After a rewarding walk through we will leave for the last stage of our tour, Pienza; famous village known for its pecorino cheese production, A fabulous view of the panorama of the Val d'Orcia will accompany our return to Florence scheduled for the end of the day. If you select Transfer Only you'll be free to visit solo each village and taste Tuscan flavours on your own.

Montalcino

A mediaeval village in the heart of the Brunello wine region of about 6,000 inhabitants, is beautifully situated on a 567-meter-high hill in the famous Val d'Orcia

Fortezza di Montalcino (Pass By)

The fortress has a new structure for the time of its construction as it had a pentagonal plan as opposed to the square plan adopted by the fortifications of a previous era. The fortress has a tower at each corner.
Palazzo dei Priori (Pass By)

The Palace constitutes one of the most typical elements of the village. Built in the 13th-14th century, it has a high crenellated tower and a portico with lowered vaults where there is a 16th-century statue of Cosimo I dei Medici. On the façade and on the side facing the square it features numerous heraldic coats of arms of the podestà families who have governed the city over the centuries. The urban evolution of the village forced the building into the alleys of the center, depriving it of its original public space.
Pienza

located on the crest of a hill overlooking the Val d'Orcia is a small town in Italy with only about 2,000 inhabitants, considered the "touchstone of Renaissance urbanism.

liked the tour cause it helped me get to small towns in Tuscany that I wouldn't have been able to reach on my own. The transport system in Italy is a bit confusing, but with the bus, it was easy

The best day of our Tuscany trip so far!! Vanessa is a terrific guide and heightened the experience with her knowledge and warmth. The locations were all beautiful and even time spent on the bus was filled with picturesque scenes. We would highly recommend to anyone that wants to experience as much of Tuscany as possible in one very relaxed, well paced day. Grazie Mille Vanessa!

Really enjoyed the wine tasting. We were able to taste 3 different wines. Assorted cheeses and cold cuts. Bread w/ cherry tomatoes and peppers. Just a very pleasant experience and just added so much to experience. 6.5 miles of walking just FYI.
