Last Tuesday we had an absolutely wonderful day experiencing some of the many sights of Osaka with local guide, Nobuko. Our day started early and saw us travel like a local using the trains and metro lines in addition to walking many kilometres and what felt like thousands of stairs (definitely a legs day workout) which was well worth every step.
Our first stop was Osaka Castle which must be seen to be believed and will make you scratch your head trying to work out how on earth back 1583 they were able to only move the enormous stones for walls but be able to cut them and put them in place with no machinery.
We then stopped at the Kuromon Markets where youcanbuy fresh seafood, fruit, sweets. Here you can also find absolutely anything you need for the kitchen.
Having built up an appetite we then had a delicious lunch in Dotonbori, before setting off again to check out extravagant neon lights and signage in downtown Osaka.
