Enjoy an independent tour from Paris to Vaux-le-Vicomte Castle, known as the origin for the idea of the Palace of Versailles, with this package that provides admission to the château and round-trip transportation on the 'Chateaubus' shuttle from the local train station. You will need to make your own way to the local Melun train station by RER (R) train from Paris gare de Lyon. When you arrive at Vaux-le-Vicomte, explore the estate to learn about the history of Nicolas Fouquet, King Louis XIV's Minister of Finance, whose extravagance in creating his castle and gardens led to his imprisonment by the Sun King.
