During our stay in Bolivia, we decided to take a full-day tour to the Salar de Uyuni with Chullos Travel, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Since we speak English, we requested a guide who spoke our language, and the agency arranged it perfectly. Our guide was not only fluent in English but also very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the tour.
The tour started early in the morning from Uyuni. We traveled in a comfortable 4x4 with a small group of international travelers. Our first stop was the train cemetery, a site steeped in history and a great opportunity to take unique photos. We then headed to the impressive Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt flat in the world.
The landscape was simply surreal: a white sea stretching to the horizon. During the tour, the guide clearly and enthusiastically explained the geological formation of the salt flat, interesting facts about the region, and local curiosities, making the tour both educational and impressive.
One of the most enjoyable moments of the day was lunch. The agency prepared a delicious and complete meal, which we enjoyed in the middle of the salt flat, surrounded by stunning scenery. Eating in that setting was a unique, almost magical experience.
We also visited Incahuasi Island, famous for its enormous cacti and panoramic views of the salt flat. We climbed to the top for a 360-degree view that left us speechless. Throughout the hike, the guide helped us capture creative photos with typical perspectives of the salt flat, which was a lot of fun.
It was a long but completely satisfying day. Chullos Travel's organization, the guide's professionalism, and the natural beauty of the Salar de Uyuni made this full-day tour an unforgettable experience.
