Overview

Taormina and Savoca tour is one of the most exciting Sicily day tours from Messina (port or city center) in particular for the lovers of the Godfather. From the departing point, we will reach the ancient town of Savoca Sicily, a wonderful medieval village, named one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. You will start a little Savoca tour, following the footsteps of the Godfather movie by F.F. Coppola, to whom a statue is dedicated in the panoramic square of the village. This square is very popular also for hosting the famous bar Vitelli. Our guides will explain to you its history and its festivals. Then we will leave for Taormina, known as the “Pearl of the Mediterranean”. This was one of the best private tours I’ve had. First time in Italy and on Mediterranean cruise. Alessandra and JohnCarlo took us to Savoca where Godfather movie was filmed and then took us to Taormina. When we got out of the cruise, we were greeted by both of them. Alessandra has in-depth knowledge of Sicily! She gave us so much insight to Sicilian history and the places we were going to see. I loved listening to her and learn from her about Sicily. She brought us baked goods to try (one dessert item). This tour felt very relaxed, no rush and lots of fun. JohnCarlo drove us to all destinations. Both of them ensured we had enough time to visit each places but also made sure we got back to the cruise an half hour to 45 minutes before the cruise’s last call to close the gangway. I want to give a shoutout to both Alessandra and JohnCarlo for their exceptional tour. I wish I can do the whole Sicily tour with them in the future :)

The best tour we took our entire trip! We did a Mediterranean Cruise and this stop was the HIGHLIGHT of our trip. Messina/Taormina is BEAUTIFUL!! Our tour was full of history not only about the Godfather but also about the people and territory. We were picked up in port, had plenty of time to hear from the tour guide and plenty of time for exploring on our own. We went with a big group of family and friends and this tour was very family, couple and friend friendly. The tour guide was amazing, she is a local and provided us with sweet treats from a local bakery. Truly an amazing tour and we will definitely be coming back - this time for longer than a day!

Our tour guide Katia was outstanding. She made us feel very welcome. She was very knowledgeable and was able to show us sites that were amazing. We strolled through the streets of Taormina and she showed the best places to eat. This was the best tour. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to visit Sicily.

Alessia was great. Very knowledge, helpful and patience. She did a good job explaining the Godfather location of the filmed. Taormina was great, she showed us places to eat and shops. She gives everyone water and sample of cookies. The driver did a great job. Got us all safe back to the port.
