Take a boat ride across the crystal-clear waters of Melissani Lake. The boats are typically guided by experienced local rowers who navigate through the cave, providing visitors with a leisurely and informative tour. Vessels at Lake Melissani are 12-man rowboats with rower. Passengers may experience crowds while boarding the boats during the high Season of July & August
The boat ride, spanning approximately 10-15 minutes, includes entry to the cave, the duration of which depends on the number of visitors in the queue.
Visitors to Drogarati Cave must negotiate approximately 150 steep steps carved out of cave rock.
Recommended Dress:Smart, Casual, Comfortable footwear.
Visitors are not permitted to swim in the Lake, in order to preserve the natural environment and protect the site

This was a great experience with a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Our tour bus had a flat tire and the tour company was able to provide a new bus in time to avoid issues with our return time to the ship. I highly recommend!

We did the Highlights of Kefalonia tour with tastes of local delights. Maria M was our guide and she was absolutely fantastic! Maria was articulate, knowledgeable, and very welcoming. She shared her love of Kefalonia and truly brought us into her culture. We booked this tour as an excursion of our cruise; and the rate we had here was less than the excursion price of the cruise line. The tour itself was so enjoyable from beginning to end. The Melissani Lake tour was brief (15-20 min) but so worth the beauty you will enjoy .... the turquoise blue of the water is so breathtaking! The stop in the small village with wine/olive oil/honey tasting of the local area was a great treat. We made some fabulous purchases .. taste the Kumquat honey!! We highly recommend this visit/experience.

Two caves worth a visit.

I would thoroughly recommend a visit to these caves in Kefalonia. Buying entrance tickets for both caves gives a discount. The best part was the boat trip in the Drogarati cave.

Sandra is a perfect tour guide she handled two languages perfectly. Very good manage of time and people. The driver was very careful through very hilly roads. Not to mention the caves and scenery.
