Overview

Amiki offer inner city walking tours that share the local culture in a unique way with international and local visitors. The tours weave through laneways, gardens and hidden squares, past historic buildings and land marks revealing gems hidden in plain sight. Amiki share an often-forgotten Māori and European whakapapa (history) and perspective of Ōtautahi (Christchurch). As keen foodies Amiki have combined their passions for storytelling, with the region’s rich kai (food) and inu (drink) offerings, connecting guests to local unique people and places.

Fantastic Experience

One of the highlights of our trip to New Zealand. Riwai was an incredible guide mixing history, current events, culture, and food. One of the most genuinely nicest humans I have ever met. Cannot recommend this tour enough.

Our tour with Ash was amazing. Her love of Christchurch shone through as she showed us her city through her eyes. She is articulate and knowledgeable: a dynamite combination. Her storytelling is engaging and helped us to begin to understand the Māori culture and New Zealand history. This should be a don’t miss tour in Christchurch, especially under Ash’s guidance. We are all grateful that we had this opportunity with her.

Christchurch food and historical tour

The guide was knowledge and toured us through the most important segments of the city, showing the devastating earthquake effects and the reconstruction processes. Lunch was excellent, there was a chocolate tasting, a Manuka honey tasting good and ice cream.

EMILY was terrific! She was a fountain of information about the city & shared about the Maori people including her personal family connections. She made the city come alive for us, and the food was tremendous that she ordered. What a treat to have her as our guide & to see Christchurch through her eyes. Couldn't have asked for a better tour.
