Overview

St Andrews, famously known as the home of golf and for its university. It is also steeped in history with St Andrews Cathedral which was once one of the biggest buildings in Europe and a place of pilgrimage. Fife is a beautiful part of Scotland located north east of Edinburgh. Explore the east coast fishing villages & discover Falkland, favoured home of Mary Queen of Scots. Your tour will be carried out in the comfort of a Mercedes V Class, or our spacious SUV, with bottled water supplied. We are a small company that prides ourselves on promoting what we believe is the best Scotland can offer, catering for corporate & leisure markets. We deliver a knowledgeable friendly service giving a memorable experience to clients. All other time is covered in travel time and distance between locations and return to Edinburgh. The tour is listed as 10 hours in total, which includes said travel time.

Itinerary

  • South Queensferry

    With great views across the Firth of Forth to the Kingdom of Fife, this is a great first stop for coffee & photographs of the Iconic Forth Bridge. Built in the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century the rail bridge is a UNESCO world heritage site. Situated in the historic villages of South & North Queensferry.

  • Fife Coastal Route (Pass By)

    A scenic drive takes you onto the Fife Coastal route where you will hear tales of the past Kings & Queens that ruled for Fife. This section will be around 1 hour 15 min drive time.

  • Anstruther Harbour

    There are several wonderful fishing villages on the East Coast of Fife. Anstrurther has more to offer in coffee shops and cafes, as well as an award winning fish and chip shop & fishing museum. This 30 min stop is negotiable and can either be, Elie, St Monans or Anstruther.

  • Falkland

    After St Andrews a 45 minute drive into the centre of Fife takes you to the beautiful village of Falkland. This stunning village is home to Falkland Palace, Mary Queen of Scots favoured residence in Scotland. The village boasts a couple of nice bars, cafes and boutique shops. This was also a key filming location for the Outlander TV series. Depending on time the opportunity to go into Falkland Palace may be viable. Entrance to the Palace would be an an extra cost on arrival. £13 per adult.

Our private tour of St. Andrews and The Kingdom of Fife was fantastic! The tour was well organized and we had ample time to enjoy each stop and never felt rushed. Our guide Adrian was charming, friendly, and could relate to everyone in our group. He was accommodating of our needs and suggested areas of interest which made it easier for us as we wandered around. He provided interesting historical and cultural information and answered all our questions with enthusiasm. We will cherish the memories of all the picturesque seaside towns, the gorgeous scenery along the way, historic St. Andrews and the charming villages of Falkland and Strathmiglo. Overall a wonderful and memorable day. We highly recommend this tour and Adrian.
