Overview

Our Castle Tour enables you to skip the line into Scotland's most iconic fortification.  The 1h30 long tour will cover the 3000 year history of Edinburgh Castle and the significant role it has played in shaping Scotland. Tour leaves from our start point at 192 High Street, by the statue of Adam Smith.

    You will be guided through the grounds of Edinburgh Castle. It is worth to note that we can not take you inside any of the Caste Buildings (no tour operator can) but we will give you the rich history of the Castle, it's place in Scottish history and many of it's more unusual tales so that after the tour you will be able to explore the Castle with a much deeper understanding than a casual visitor.

  • Although much of the tour is done inside the castle complex, this will not be under cover.

  • Tour DOES NOT MEET AT THE CASTLE, the tour begins from our start point at 192 High Street, by the statue of Adam Smith
  • Please Note - Children, aged 15 and under, will not be able to join the tour unless accompanied by a responsible adult
  • Edinburgh Castle is built on top of the core of an old volcano, the ground is often uneven and at times steep. Be prepared to be on your feet for the full duration of the tour. People with mobility issues may not get the most from this tour.

Definitely do this tour of the castle. We had an amazing time learning about the rich history and culture of the castle and of the city.

Lively informative tour… short and packed with interesting history. NOTE: there is an intense climb. This is not for anyone who isn’t fit.

Sabi was such a fun, knowledgeable and great story teller! While this was my 3rd visit (and husbands 1st) to the Castle, I learned more in this trip! All the history and memorable ways that Sabi narrated for us was very unique. This is my favorite castle in Europe and I highly recommend the tour! Then wander around inside and out of the castle after the tour is over (give yourself 2-3 hours.

Sabi was a great tour guide and made the facts interesting with a hint of humour. Would recommend a tour as well as walking around the castle as you learn a lot of facts. I would recommend the tour as we got 1.5 hours of great info as well as entry to the castle.
