Overview

Enjoy the historic center of Sorrento with a local! Starting from the meeting point we will have an introductory moment to the history of the city, and then move on to the Vallone dei Mulini and the geo-morphological explanation of Sorrento. Than we will move inside the historic center, with the Sedil Dominova, the ancient city parliament, and then delve into the history of Sorrento wood inlaying and talk about the famous lemons and limoncello. We will then go down to the port of Marina Grande, the ancient fishing village to go back up to the 14century cloister of San Francesco, to conclude with a tasting of limoncello, chocolates & biscuits to understand the quality of our local production. The tasting is a break offered by a partner shop to understand the organoleptic qualities of limoncello. After the tasting, upon express request (part not included in the classic tour) it will be possible to visit the Cathedral of Sorrento with the guide (if open) without additional costs

Meeting points

In front of the "Piccadilly Pub". Address : "Via Fuorimura n°20" in Sorrento. I will have a red hat for quick recognition. It is recommended to set off 10 minutes early. Please note: for the morning tour the meeting time is 10.00 but the tour will start at 10.10. The guide will arrive at 10.10.

  • Il Vallone dei Mulini

    The enchanted glimpse of the Vallone, with its ancient mill and lush vegetation, which covers the old bridges that united the valleys of Sorrento. A great start with one of the most photographed places in the world, excellent for starting to understand more about the morphology of the Sorrento coast

    Hear the history of Sorrento's main square which was once a natural valley, dedicated to one of the greatest Italian poets

    The narrow alleys of the historic center of Sorrento, with its clothes hanging in the sun, the bumpy streets interspersed with ancient buildings (Sorrento Cathedral, Sedil Dominova, Monastery and Cloister of San Francesco) the local craft shops, its princely attractions and the extraordinary Villa Comunale, from which it will be possible to observe the Sorrento coast and the morphology of the Gulf of Naples

The tasting is a break offered free of charge by a partner shop to understand the organoleptic qualities of limoncello and have the opportunity to purchase local products. The tour is not a "tasting" tour, but a walking tour with a final tasting. Limoncello (as well as other products) are given so that various "samples" can be tasted to understand their flavors and quality. The perfect little walking tour to do in Sorrento. The group was small, no more than 10 people and it was a fairly easy 2 hour walk around town. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. My wife and I enjoyed it and it gave us a good foundation for the lay of the land. After this tour we were all set on exploring ourselves. I definitely recommend this tour.
