People's Square (Renmin Guang Chang)

Your tour guide will meet you at your hotel at 09:00 a.m.. Then, we will transfer to People’s Square and start the highlight tour. Shanghai People's Square is located at the very center of Shanghai and is the demarcation point of East Nanjing Road and West Nanjing Road. It is a flourishing place for people to look around. Before 1949, the area of Shanghai People’s Square and the People’s Park was used as a famous horse racetrack which was built in 1861, honored as the ‘No.1 Racetrack in Far East’. Visitors still can find the ruins for the former main building standing at the northeast part of the People’s Square. We can see many scenic spots around people's square, such as the new Municipal Government Mansion, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Grand Theater, Shanghai History Museum and Mu'en Church. Then, we will visit Shanghai History Museum to learn about Shanghai 6000 years civilization.

Shanghai History Museum

Shanghai History Museum is located in People's Square area, it is large Museum of Shanghai local history. Dedicated to the history of Shanghai, the museum houses more than a thousand relics and chronicles 6000 years of history from the region. If you have ever wondered what Old Shanghai was like, you can find the answer at Shanghai History Museum. Divided into two sections – Ancient Shanghai and Modern Shanghai, the museum traces the political, social, economic and cultural evolution of the city from 4000BC to the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.

Mu'en Church

Mu'en Church is located on Xizang Zhong Lu, in the middle of department stores right across from People's Square. It was formerly named the Moore Church to memorize the great American donator Moore. The church was a new gothic church designed by a European architect - Laszlo Hudec. It features a brick-and-wood structure. It has a big lobby, and the central part is the main body of the church. The rectangle pillars in the hall, the balusters in the balcony and the bema are covered with artificial stones. The concrete ribbed vault can be seen inside the church. Then, we will walk around Nanjing Road, explore surrounding communities and the thinnest building.

Nanjing Lu (Nanjing Road)

Nanjing Road is considered to be the 'No. 1 commercial street in China', which has been a landmark for this city for a long time. Along its 5.5 kilometers, you will find over 600 shops that on average are visited by some 1.7 million people each day. We will take the Dangdang sightseeing tram. It's an unforgettable experience to take a ride on the old-style Dangdang tram. On the slow bus, you can see various stores out of the window, old or new, leaving your view one by one. You can also visit the thinnest building in Ningbo Road is known as Paper Building(纸片楼). The building was once reported by British Daily Mail, stated as perhaps the world's flattest and thinnest building. Standing diagonally in the front of the the building, it just looks like a piece of paper. The old house had four floors, not all that thin; it takes the shape of triangular polygon. This novel and strange building still has a large number of residents. According to your preference, your guide will recommend a place to eat, which could be a small local eatery or elegant cuisine restaurant. After lunch, we will transfer to Pudong to see Shanghai's financial district and visit Shanghai Tower.

Pudong New Area

As a new and bustling district, Pudong offers visitors some of the most modern attractions, businesses, skyscrapers and shopping malls, all featuring the latest in entertainment, technology and fashion. We will walk along Lujiazui Ring Bridge which is good place to photograph skyscrapers.

Shanghai Tower

The new landmark of Shanghai, the tallest building in Shanghai with a total height of 632 meters. The 118th floor of the tower has a indoor observation deck which is the world's highest indoor observation deck and called the 'Top of Shanghai Observatory'. Tourists are recommended to visit the exhibition hall on floor B1 first, and then take the express elevator to the 118th floor directly within only 55 seconds, its speed can reach 18 meters per second. Here, you have a bird’s-eye view of Shanghai. You will have time to stop and admire the scenery on both sides of the Huangpu River on the 119th floor.

Riverside Promenade (Bingjiang Da Dao)

Then, your guide will show you around Shanghai Binjiang Avenue built in 1997 and located at the east bank of Huangpu River and it's praised as the new Bund of Pudong. It integrates sightseeing, leisure and relaxation, focusing on the urban ecological environment and functions. Walking on the broad Binjiang Avenue,overlooking the panorama of the Bund, listening to the melodious whistle on the Huangpu River, is a rare quiet and comfortable life in the heart of the metropolis. Then, we will transfer to Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum and discover a lesser-known side of Shanghai's history.

Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum

It is a museum commemorating the Jewish refugees who lived in Shanghai during World War II after fleeing Europe to escape the Holocaust. The museum features documents, photographs, films and personal items documenting the lives of some of the more than 20,000 Jewish residents of the Restricted Sector for Stateless Refugees, better known as the Shanghai Ghetto, during the Japanese occupation of Shanghai. See important sites from that era including the Jewish Refugees Museum (formerly Ohel Moishe Synagogue), Huoshan Park and Xiahai Temple. Learn from your informative guide about the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, hear about modern day life in the historic neighborhood and meet local residents on this fascinating tour.

Huoshan Park is located in Hongkou District, the gate near the mount of the intersection of Zhoushan Road and Huoshan Road, covers an area of 3,700 square meters. During World War II, large numbers of Jews came to Shanghai to escape fascist persecution. Built a new description of the monument of Jewish refugees living in the park Park in 1994. A Nice Leisure and Entertainment Place Sinan Road is a famous French-style road in Former French Concession Shanghai. There are about twenty garden houses on both sides of the street that are representative of almost all the residential styles of Shanghai in the early 20th century. There are boutique hotels, apartment hotels and enterprise mansions. Moreover, there are a variety of restaurants, bars, coffee houses, tea houses, as well as a large number of clubs, convention centers, showrooms, cultural salons, designer shops and recreational parks. Stroll down this clean and romantic one-way street and enjoy the shade of the plane trees on both sides of the road. You can feel the peace in the middle of the crowded Shanghai. Then, we will walk around Tianzifang and visit local wet market.

Tianzifang

Tianzifang, which used to be industrial area, is now a fashion landmark with many lanes. You can walk through the old alleys to see what the folk houses looked like in early 20th century Shanghai with dormer windows, red tiles, green moss on the walls, and so on. Moreover, losts of restaurants and fashion boutiques can be found here, making it a nice place to enjoy delicious food and shopping.

Taikang Road (Pass By)

We will visit Taikang Wet Market where the locals shop for their groceries. You’ll notice that the markets in Shanghai have a lot of ingredients which aren’t used outside of China, and your guide will help you explain what everything is. Afterwards, enjoy comfortable transfer back to your hotel, Wrap your memories and say good-bye in your hotel.
