At Fiumicino airport: After claiming your bags, follow the signs to the train station at the airport, it takes about 7 minutes to get there. Look at the display to check the platform of the next train to Rome Termini Station, pass your ticket through the scanner and get to the platform. Jump on the train, and take a seat. Enjoy a 32 minutes ride, with no intermediate stops. The journey ends at Termini station from where you can catch underground lines A and B, or a taxi, or one of the many bus options, or a train to your final destination. At Rome Termini station: Look at the display to check the platform of the next train going to Fiumicino airport. Pass your ticket through the scanner and get on the board of the train. Once arrived at the airport check on the display the terminal from where your flight leaves. The easiest and fastest way to get from Fiumicino airport to Rome Termini station or vice versa! You will receive your train ticket with the QR code directly to your email address about 2-3 days before the travel date. Both paper tickets and eletronic tickets are accepted on the board of the train. On the moment of the booking please choose carefully the option needed: Option 1 Fiumicino - Rome Termini OR Option 2 Rome Termini - Fiumicino. It is not possible to modify the booking afterwards.

Fiumicino Terminal 1 to Roma Termini via Trenitalia Airport Express train

From Fiumicino Airport Terminal 1, we exited the airport door and walked to Door 3. Cross the road and enter the Fiumicino airport train station. We queued at the counter to buy the Trenitalia airport express train ticket to Roma Termini. Tap the Trenitalia airport express train ticket at the gantry and walk to the train Platform. The gantry serves as a ticket validator too. There is a digital sign above the parked train. Check that the train is travelling express to Roma Termini as there are also non-express trains to Roma Termini. There was a staff at entrance of the First Class cabin. For the standard class cabin, just press the flashing green button on the door. Once inside, you can open the interconnecting doors to the different cabins. There are toilets in the train cabin. Look out for it in the cabin with no seats. If it is vacant, there is a green button to press and remember to push open the door, it does not open automatically. If you prefer to sit in the forward direction which the train will be travelling, you know the end of the train is at the platform.

Easy to find ticket station - and the train. Less than an hour ride from airport to central station Train was clean and seats comfortable Train was not overly crowded and lots of places to store luggage

Smooth Ride

Very easy to get to Termini, Rome's main transport hub. Handily there were 4 of us so we qualified for the Mini group rate. The train glided along at relatively low speed but it didn't stop at all. Plenty of space for luggage. Trains run every 15 minutes and the journey takes just over 30 minutes. With the mini group rate you only get one ticket which needs to be scanned once for each passenger at the turnstile.

This was so easy. We walked 5 mins from the airport and straight on to the train. The train was efficient and took us direct to the termini in Rome. Definitely worth buying
